Amazon union members: Bezos into space and don't come back! The leader of AgroUnia focuses on Kaufland, Biedronka and Lidl

About 80 trade unionists from OZZ Inicjatywa Pracowniczej, AgroUnii and Amazon employees blocked the pedestrian crossing between Złote Tarasy and the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw to protest against labor exploitation and pathologies in trade.

- Suppliers' rights are not respected by large corporations. Black Friday, the biggest discounts of the year, are made at the expense of employees, suppliers, farmers and producers. It is from us that products are torn off at very low prices so that they can be sold on a cheap basis. At the expense of employees and the fact that appropriate taxes are not paid in Poland - said Michał Kołodziejczak, president of AgroUnia.

- The law is written by corporations and large companies, i.e. people who do business for us. Politicians from Wiejska do not respect our people and our work. These are not politicians who care about our interests. Employees of Amazon and other corporations fund the president's spaceflight. We finance their comfortable life. Promotions are made at the expense of employees and suppliers - said Michał Kołodziejczak.

The chairman of AgroUnia drew attention to the lack of interest in the most important media in the issue of labor exploitation and pathologies in trade. - It's amazing that there is no public television camera, Polsat or TVN here. We know why. Big corporations such as Kaufland, Biedronka, Lidl spend PLN 1.5 billion on advertising. But they make a condition: if you show it on TV, we'll withdraw the commercials for six months. Corporations entered our life. People who are addicted to these corporations are simply afraid, says the leader of AgroUnii

"A wall behind Magda"

Magda Malinowska, who was recently released from Amazon, participated in the protest. - Two weeks ago, I was fired from the company. I worked for six years, I was a protected trade union activist. Amazon fired me because on the day my colleague died while working at the plant, I was trying to get to the accident commission and monitor how the company behaves in such situations. I was fired for absurd charges and totally unlawful - said Magda Malinowska.

- There are many things on Amazon that the company does not want to show. And we, as trade unions in this plant, have been controlling the working conditions for six years and we have spoken loudly about the fact that the company is deliberately endangering employees' lives, deliberately destroying our health. We have official reports that the work is badly organized, too hard, dangerous for employees, for our life and health - said a former Amazon employee.

- We are here to unite between the trade unions. We create these workplaces - not our managers, not our bosses. Without us, they are nothing, without us they will have no business or profits. That's why we have to stick together and organize. Today we are protesting symbolically to show that we are together, said Magda Malinowska.

"Capitalism, Cannibalism"

Piotr Ikonowicz, a social activist, called for publicizing the problems of employees and thus putting pressure on employers. Capitalism is a pathology and a virus. Go with Amazon, go with mbank, go with capitalism. Every child will learn at school how to become the new Bezos. She will not only learn how to use employee rights, how to become Magda from Amazon - says Piotr Ikonowicz.

- Black Friday increases the scale of trading. The millions of people who run to the store today are lab mice. The only thing that can be done to capitalists, that really hurts them, is to put them in their pockets. There is one place that hurts them the most, the most nervous: their wallet. Therefore, let's do black PR to them - exhorted Ikonowicz.
