When does the door need adjustment?

How to properly adjust the front door?
The key to a quiet and proper operation of the door is its systematic and correct maintenance. At least once a year, it is worth carrying out a detailed inspection, paying attention to such aspects as tightness or noiseless operation. There are several ways to adjust the door and they are strictly dependent on the cause of leakage or noise. If your door starts to squeak after a while, it will most likely help just to lubricate the hinges and washers between the spindle and the bushing. The squeaking or leakage of the front door may also be affected by unfavorable weather conditions. In such a case, problems with their closing will be the result of wood swelling. Here, the key is to ventilate the rooms regularly, preventing the accumulation of moisture. Of course, it may also turn out that the door will need to be adjusted with hinges, by screwing them more firmly into the sash and frame. Such an adjustment is most often aimed at lifting the lower edge of the sash on the lock side, thus bringing it closer to the frame.
