How does Door Keeper work? The new smart lock from Somfy does not require any revolution at home - apart from the installation of a small device on our door and an insert prepared by Gerda. The installer can do it for us, because we will buy this product from a professional supplier. After that, all you have to do is connect the device to your home WiFi network ... and it works! The configuration of the lock is child's play - it only takes a few dozen seconds for the mechanism to set the end positions (i.e. the range of movement from the open to the closed position) and the first steps are behind us. It is worth bearing in mind that we can enjoy the Door Keeper lock without buying other smart home solutions such as automatic blinds or a control unit - they are part of the entire ecosystem to which we can add our lock at any time. Or vice versa - if we have Somfy solutions at home, we can easily connect the Door Keeper lock to the control panel at any time.

With the Door Keeper lock, we always know whether it is unlocked or locked, and whether the door has been properly closed. The lock constantly monitors the status of the door - and thanks to the built-in IntelliTAG sensor, it will inform us about attempts to open it by unauthorized persons. The real ocean of possibilities is opened by the application - it is through it that we can grant access (both permanent and temporary) to other users, as well as configure various automation. And one of those that most will like from the first use is the Leave'n'Lock mode - i.e. automatic closing of the door after all tenants leave the apartment.

We already know that assembly is simple, as is configuration. But what about the power supply? For this purpose, the engineers used a battery mounted in the lower part of the lock, which is enough for a few or even several months of use. What's later? Thanks to easy access and hassle-free removal of the battery - just connect it to a charger with a USB type C input for a few hours ... and it's ready! The red LED will inform us that the energy is running low - but the manufacturer ensures that the device does not need such treatments with intensive use (several or several times a day), even for over half a year.

Door Keeper is an intelligent lock which, in combination with a dedicated application, will give us not only a lot of possibilities and peace of mind, but also ... convenience and a whole range of configurations. Importantly: Door Keeper, although it is an electronic device, can also be operated 100% mechanically - by manually "turning" the lock from the inside, or by using the key from the outside. So there is no risk that we will not get home in the event of problems or breakdowns.
Thanks to the integration with the Tahoma control panel, we can create advanced scenarios not only for the lock, but also for other Somfy smart devices. Then, for example, when leaving the house, not only will the door close automatically, but also alarms, cameras will be activated and the blinds will be covered. Perfect in its simplicity ... and - above all - in comfort! As befits a modern device - Door Keeper is not only useful, but also characterized by a thoughtful, eye-catching design.
The Door Keeper lock is now available for sale - so far only in a white variant, but soon a darker color variant - anthracite will also be available.
