GREEN ENERGY

The store is powered by solar and wind energy, but it doesn't stop there. We use innovative solutions, thanks to which the customer's visit alone gives power! Our store uses energy coming 100% from &nbspgreen sources, such as:

SOLAR ENERGY -&nbspGreenhouse gases are a huge threat to our planet -&nbspthat's why we say a firm "no" to their emissions and&nbsp we focus on renewable energy sources. The same amount of energy from the sun leaves a carbon footprint about 17 times smaller than electricity from fossil fuels, which is why the electricity in our store comes primarily from solar energy (which thanks to storage works around the clock, regardless of the weather) and from the farm of the Wierzcholas wind farm. We also installed 40 photovoltaic panels on the roof of the store, and we also use quantum technology.

QUANTUM DOT -&nbspsounds like an invention from a&nbspsci-fi movie. However, there is no "fiction" in our shop. This is an innovative solution that serves to further reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Quantum dots are part of the windows in our store. Thanks to them, it is possible to obtain solar energy falling on transparent windows at first glance. Both during the day and at night, they provide energy used to illuminate the store. This is the technology of the future, innovative on the Polish market, and Żabka is a pioneer when it comes to testing this solution. Żabka will have this solution, as a few companies in the world - &nbspcurrently, the network will be the third entity in the world and&nbspthe second in&nbspPoland.

WE STOCK FROM &nbspNATURE -&nbspŻabka is open until 11pm, but we have solar energy 24/7. How is this possible? Surplus energy from photovoltaic panels is stored by us. We are ready for sun drops so that the store can be constantly powered by green energy.

CHARGE YOUR SMARTPHONE NATURALLY -&nbspNothing is as draining as a dead phone battery. We have a solution - a science bench, thanks to which you can charge your phone. Annually, the bench's solar panels produce 80 kWh of green energy - &nbspto 16,000. hours of charging a standard smartphone. Your phone will quickly receive the right dose of energy thanks to USB 3.0 sockets and an induction charger. The solution is completely safe - &nbsphas only charging circuits -&nbspi&nbspvery environmentally friendly.

INTELLIGENT REFRIGERATOR DOOR -&nbspEveryone likes to look inside the fridge. Unfortunately, constantly opening the door is a big waste of energy. That is why in our store we used an innovative technological solution, produced especially for Żabka. It is an intelligent refrigerator door that limits the amount of energy that escapes. Just put your hand and&nbsp the shutter door will open -&nbspto great convenience, and&nbspat the same time energy saving. The refrigerator itself uses glycol as a refrigerant, which results in savings of 30%.

INTELLIGENT LABELS AND&nbspINTELLIGENT SCREENS -&nbsp&nbsspThe store also has smart electronic labels, the so-called. price lists, and smart digital signage screens, which are the digital equivalent of the posters used so far. Both solutions are powered by green energy and additionally save paper.

Electronic price tags are a solution based on RFID technology (identification using radio waves). Price changes are made remotely. The introduction of e-labels significantly reduces the amount of work people have to do in &nbsspshops. Thanks to this, employees can focus, for example, on customer service or the assortment.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SMALL STEPS - Whether it's shopping on the go or a thoughtful stroll through the store, every step on our kinetic floor gives us energy. How is this possible? The floor in our store uses modern pressure plate technology that turns every step into shared energy. Thanks to it, we power devices operating in our facility. You will not find a kinetic floor anywhere else in Poland. This is the second installation of this type in a retail chain in Europe!

SECOND LIFE

Human activity has led to a paradox; on the one hand, resources are running out (including the most valuable drinking water), on the other - we are covered with garbage. In our store, we prove that not everything has to be thrown away, but can be used a second time. We not only reduce the amount of waste, but also save valuable raw materials. How we do it:

PERLATORS&nbspRAINWATER TANK -&nbspWhy are we looking for water on Mars? Because water is life. Unfortunately, human activity has made it a luxury in the near future. In&nbsp1980, there were 2.5 thousand people per person in&nbspPoland. m3 of water, in recent years this level reached even 1.1 thousand. m3! It takes almost 10,000 to produce one pair of jeans. liters of water. The development of agriculture leads to huge water consumption. Droughts, drying lakes and obstacles are a very possible landscape in the future. That's why we should value what we have and save water. In our store we have installed aerators that allow you to reduce water consumption by up to 50%. It may not be visible, but under our store there is also a powerful, 2200-liter rainwater tank. We want to preserve every drop, so wherever possible, the water in the store goes into a closed circuit. When it is not raining, it is water from the tank and from the store that we water our plants in the store.

ECO-BUILDING -&nbspThe inconspicuous wall of the store's technical room has an extraordinary history. It was made of &nbsp1000 PET bottles (that's 14 kg of plastic!), collected by the designers of the store themselves.

HIGH WEIGHT OF RECYCLING -&nbspFrog shelves are always waiting for customers full of products of the highest quality. But also the furniture itself has an interesting history - &nbspit has not always been in&nbspŻabka. In &nbspour store, furniture and&nbspsufit are made of&nbspmaterials that are recycled while reducing fossil fuels. The production process itself uses waste from wood processing in a technology that produces a minimum amount of carbon dioxide. Paper product boxes are made of &nbsptectecture, which also has a second life.

EKOMAT -&nbspHow can you give your products a second life? It will help you with the EKOmat. New, empty bottles will be made from used, empty bottles that have a 33% lower carbon footprint than traditional packaging. What's more -&nbspmless plastic will end up in landfills!

GREEN TRANSPORT

Not only can a store be ecological, but also access to it. That is why we support those who decided to visit Żabka during a bike ride or came by electric car. A&nbwe'll do it like this:

RECHARGE YOUR VEHICLE NATURALLY -&nbspIt's up to all of us to decide what our city will look like. I don't think anyone wants smog and noise, which is why we extend a helping hand to electric car drivers by providing them with a vehicle charging station. Using a car charged with green energy (from the Wierzcholas wind farm) emits 3 times less carbon dioxide than driving a similar vehicle with a diesel engine. In our store, we provide two charging points with a power of 3.7 kW; 7.4kW; 11kW; 22 kW alternating current (AC).

BICYCLE REPAIR STATION -&nbspPleasant with&nbspuseful and&nbsphas two wheels? Of course the bike. Cycling, mountain, city - it doesn't matter. It is the most ecological and healthy means of transport. But sometimes both the rider and his vehicle need regeneration. That's why we have something for fans of two wheels. The bicycle repair station will allow you to quickly adjust the brakes and derailleurs, inflate the wheels, and also make emergency repairs. We want to reduce the amount of dust and harmful substances that enter the atmosphere. Plants are a great way to purify the air, but the latest technology is also helpful. In&nbspour shop there are:

VERTICAL FROG GARDEN -&nbspThis garden may not be on the list of the seven wonders of the world, but only because it is a modern solution and&nbsp is ancient. A vertical garden not only produces oxygen, but also absorbs harmful compounds from the air and dust. In addition, it looks beautiful. The plants grow right next to the parking lot and absorb up to 85% of exhaust fumes that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere. In connection with the effect of anti-smog paving stones, this gives the effect of clean air.
