Alternative ways to open the outer door: with a code, a fingerprint, or maybe a Bluetooth system?

Until recently, modern door opening systems only appeared in sci-fi movies, and today they are becoming a standard also in modern SMART homes. A fingerprint or RFID reader, a remote control, a numeric keypad or an electronic access control system is increasingly replacing traditional solutions and it is not surprising. Not only are they extremely convenient, but also provide the perfect protection for those who lose or forget their keys.

A home is a treasure for most of us, so why not protect it like your valuables in a safe? A scene from the cult Vabank comes to mind - moving the knob twice to the left and once to the right, modern technology has decided to use encryption in a more accessible dimension. All thanks to the innovative numeric keypads that allow you to open the door with a digital code. We can successfully choose a combination that is easy for us to remember, and if some household members prefer standard solutions, there is nothing to prevent us from opening the door with a key.

One finger is enough

While opening a classic door with just one finger may turn out to be a breakneck task, a fingerprint scanner instead of a keyhole is a technology commonly used in the so-called smart home.

"The aesthetic housing of the reader, made of stainless steel, is built into the door leaf, and all the wires are hidden in the frame. Opening the door signals the lighting of the appropriate lamp, and the use of the reader after dark is facilitated by the light from LEDs integrated with the housing. The system allows you to add fingerprints of up to 99 people "- adds Mariusz Kudas, WindowsPlus expert.

Contactless opening

We have several options to choose from. The Bluetooth system allows you to open the door using a telephone - unlocking takes place automatically when the sensor intercepts the signal transmitted by our smartphone. A key ring or a card permanently attached, for example to car keys, can also become the key to the house. RFID locks, operating on the basis of radio frequency identification, enable contact-free and automatic recognition. When the transponder is near the receiver, the door is opened.

Modern technologies are safe

A lot of people have doubts and ask questions about the functionality and safety of new solutions. In this case, there is nothing to worry about. Communication between devices is encrypted and protected against external interference.

"In order to increase the level of comfort, WindowPlus customers, when deciding on the method of door closing, can also choose a patent cylinder. This one is equipped with a dedicated card on which data to make a duplicate are encoded" - emphasizes Mariusz Kudas, an expert of the OkoPlus brand.
