The National Center for Prevention of Dis -social behavior (KOZD) in Gostynin was established under the Act of 2013.as the only medicinal facility of this type in the country.There are people with mental disorders that pose a threat to life, health or sexual freedom of others.One of the best -known patients of the center was the pedophile Mariusz T.who went to Gostynin after serving a sentence of 25 years in prison for the murder of four boys.

The need to create a branch of the center resulted from its overpopulation.Over 90 people have been in the center for a long time, even though it has been foreseen for 60 patients.The problem was to be resolved in mid -April, which increased the expenditure limit for its functioning.Additional funds are to allow the planned expansion of the center for a long time, but its branch is to be open first.
Negotiations on the appropriate location were jointly conducted by two ministries - the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health.The choice fell on the closed external unit of the Prison in Koronowo located in the town of Czersk in Pomerania.At the beginning of July, a contract was concluded under which the Ministry of Justice lent the facility for 35 months.
When asked by PAP about the opening of the branch, the Ministry of Health replied that the final work is currently underway related to the adaptation of the plant and adapting it to the needs of the National Center for Prevention of Dissentable behavior."Further details will be known after the work" - added.
Will transfer the first patients by mid -January
At the same time, the ministry emphasized that patients who "do not show significant somatic diseases and do not create serious problems in their behavior" will first be sent to the branch in Czersk.."Transferring the first patients to the branch ward will be possible after the work is completed" - it was noted.
The director of the center Dr. Ryszard Wardeński told PAP that the first patients were to be moved to Czersk until mid -January.When asked what number of people we are talking about, Wardeński replied that in the initial stage it should be ok.12 patients."Ultimately, it's ok.20 places " - he added.Earlier, the center authorities reported about the maximum target number of 40 patients.

The inhabitants of Czersk indicate that the center will be built in the center in the immediate vicinity of the kindergarten as well as primary and special schools.The decision was also to be made bypassing the local City Council and the mayor Przemysław Biesek-Talewski, who in the last few months has tried to prevent these plans.

Safety procedures
The complex is to be fenced and secured with spiral barbed wire.The facility will be equipped with a system of about 120 industrial cameras, monitoring people staying there everywhere, 24 hours a day.The building is to be installed new doors with special access codes, and each opening will be registered.
