New Ford Ranger unveiled! It has a V6 engine, upgraded suspension and is packed with technology

Ford ensures that it is the most thoughtful and versatile Ranger in the history of the model. Ford has conducted more than 5,000 interviews and collaborated with hundreds of pick-up owners in dozens of workshop meetings around the world to find out about how users use their cars, what they like about them, what they would like and what they have for them the greatest importance - it helped the American manufacturer to design and develop the expected and most appreciated solutions for the next-generation Ranger.

The next-generation Ford Ranger has a muscular body that clearly recognizes the Ford genes that characterize the style of the brand's trucks. At first glance, a new radiator grille and C-shaped headlights can be seen from the front, while the throat line joins the bolder wheel arches at the sides. For the first time, a Ford Ranger offers matrix LED headlights. The rear lights are designed in harmony with the light signature used in the headlamps in the front.

The cargo space has been arranged so that customers are able to carry more. The integrated side step with the rear wheels is to ensure safe and more stable access to the box. The new durable molded plastic tub protects both the load box from scratches and the owners' knees when kneeling on the floor. Lashing points have been added - on strong tubular steel rails - which provide a convenient solution for securing the load. Durable, flexible cargo box panels around the sides of the cargo box and tailgate conceal attachment points for tarpaulins, covers and other accessories.

In addition, Ranger offers a new load distribution system with compartments that allow the storage of items of various sizes - such as boxes and tool boxes. The tailgate can also function as a mobile work table with a built-in ruler and pockets for tools for measuring, gripping and cutting building materials.

Inside, the passenger car-like interior features a large 10.1-inch or 12-inch touchscreen in the center console. It complements the fully digital cockpit and is equipped with the latest Ford SYNC 4 system, which can be operated by voice command to control communication, entertainment and information systems.

Many of the traditional controls of driving modes have been transferred from the cockpit and center console to a specially designed side-screen on the SYNC display. With the push of a button, the rider can access the screen for all off-road and road modes, where they can monitor the driveline, steering angle, vehicle lean and roll angles, and other parameters and settings.

The display also works with the 360-degree camera system, which is to facilitate parking in tight urban spaces or help overcome difficult terrain during cross-country rides.

Beneath the new body is a modernized chassis with a wheelbase that is 50 mm longer and a track width 50 mm wider than in the previous Ranger. The front design of the Ranger allows more space in the engine compartment for the new V6 power unit and is ready for the possible adoption of other powertrain technologies in the future. The front of the pick-up is more open to allow more airflow to the radiator to help keep operating temperatures cool when towing or carrying heavy loads.

Ford Ranger - improved handling and handling

The modernized chassis and suspension are to provide better than in the previous generation driving and handling properties.

Engineers moved the front axle 50mm forward for a better approach angle and increased the track width to increase off-road efficiency. The rear suspension shock absorbers have also been moved beyond the frame rails, which is supposed to positively affect the comfort of the driver and passengers, both when driving on a paved road and off-road, regardless of whether a heavy load is carried or there is simply a full set of passengers in the cabin.

Drivers will have a choice of two four-wheel drive systems - with electronic engagement of both axles while driving, or the new permanent four-wheel drive system with 'set it and forget it' mode. All actions to pull the car in difficult terrain are to be facilitated by the double hooks visible in the front bumper.

The Next Generation Ranger sign-up lists will be opened in Europe in late 2022 and will be delivered to customers in early 2023.
