An organized network was not limited to the Yvelines area, but also operated in the departments of Île-de-France and Oise. A specialized team used a non-invasive method of car theft using a computer and specialized software. The nearby thief drowned out the waves, preventing the car from locking up when the button on the key was pressed. The door was left open and allowed access to the vehicle when the owner moved away. After connecting to the diagnostic socket, the vehicle was started. The stolen DS 7 Crossback was transported to Africa in containers.

DS 7 Crossback very often falls prey to thieves in France, therefore the DS Automobiles brand has decided to update the security system. Owners have been notified by the brand of corrections that will be made at the manufacturer's expense.
