The return of "white" burglaries in Ursynów? Thieves get into apartments without a trace

At least three burglaries were committed in al. KEN during the Easter holidays. Residents found the door locked, not showing signs of a break-in at first glance. Later it turned out that the valuables had disappeared. Did the thieves use the "white key"? This question electrifies the owners of robbed premises.

The police confirm our readers' reports of further burglaries in Ursynów. This time, the burglars targeted the blocks at al. National Education Commission. Unsuspecting residents returning home after Easter, opened the door and only after entering did they realize that there had been a burglary.

No trace, no noise...

Since the doors and locks were not damaged at first glance, a theory of using a "white key" appeared among the residents, i.e. a suitably profiled universal key or lockpick, which, guided by a skilled hand, can open a specific type of lock.

- As soon as I heard what happened to the neighbors, I immediately changed the locks, says Paweł, a resident of Imielin. “We all have doors and locks installed by the same company, quite a long time ago, so I don't want to risk being next,” he adds.

The Ursynów police confirm that three burglaries have recently been reported in al. KEN and says that activities are already being carried out in this matter.

- Traces have been secured, e.g. locks that will be sent to an expert in the field of mechanoscopy to examine how they were opened - says Asp. staff. Robert Koniuszy.

Key or lockpick?

"White burglaries" are those during which there are no visible signs of opening the door. In the case of KEN Avenue, it is likely that a second generation lockpick was used for the burglaries, which can be easily purchased over the Internet.

- Such second-generation equipment is widely available and effective, although opening the lock with it takes longer, says Józef Matyjas, an expert security expert.

It is worth remembering that after receiving the apartment, the so-called construction contribution. Otherwise, the apartment can be easily entered with the help of a construction key, used during the finishing of the building by construction teams. Sometimes it even turns out that our lock fits the neighbor's key, because the encryption cubes are not very diverse.

It's not the first time

A similar situation that took place in 2014 in Wola and Wilanów was described by "Gazeta Wyborcza". The burglars entered the apartments without leaving any traces.

Thieves probably used special lockpicks at that time, which could be bought on the Internet for as little as PLN 800. The description warns that "the use of this product requires certain knowledge and professional ability". There were apparently no shortage of thieves.

In the first quarter of this year, the police recorded 69 burglaries in our district.
