The investor of the construction of a thermal waste transformation installation (ITPO) in Olsztyn is Dobra Energia for Olsztyn. The general contractor of the investment is the consortium Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction (Korea) and Doosan Lentjes (Germany), who is a supplier and contractor for technology.

It is expected that at the top at the construction site, all contractors, from 800 to 1000 people will be involved in the work. The investment is created as part of the public-private partnership (PPP).The parties to the contract are: a public entity, i.e. MPEC and Private Partner Dobra Energia for Olsztyn.

About the new eco -room in Olsztyn

The new eco -room will be one of the most modern incineration plants in Poland. The project will meet all the requirements set out under BAT (Best Avilaable Technology) for ITPO.The plant in Olsztyn will enable waste utilization with energy recovery.

The eco -room will be able to process up to 110 thousand annually.tons of fuel from waste (RDF) produced by the inhabitants of Warmia and Mazury. The plant will cover about 30% of the heat demand in the region, thanks to which it will replace the production powers in the highly -emission Michelin heat and power plant, which is prepared for permanent disabled in the near future. The implemented investment will provide constant, reliable and safe supply of heat and electricity for the inhabitants of Olsztyn. At the same time, the use of energy contained in waste is a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels while reducing the surface of landfills.

The new installation in Olsztyn will include a boiler for thermal transformation of alternative fuel with a steam turbine, producing electricity and heat of high-efficiency cogeneration, as well as a gas-oil gable boiler room.Cubatural facilities will be built, which will be made in reinforced concrete, steel or steel-gelbet structure and placed on plates or feet and reinforced concrete benches.Internal and external walls24 cm will be made in reinforced concrete or stone technology.

There will also be: a water supply network with fire protection, sanitary and industrial sewage system, rainwater sewage, gas, heat network, as well as low and high voltage energy networks. The facility will be equipped with teletechnical solutions together with the Czech Television System.Inside the plant, a ventilation, air conditioning and heating system will be installed, and the entire BMS system will be managed.

The installation of thermal waste transformation in Olsztyn, co -financed by the EU, will meet all European requirements in the field of recycling and waste processing, while observing the emission limits in accordance with new BREF documents (reference to the best available techniques).

Construction of an incineration plant in Olsztyn - scope of work

As part of the implementation of the Strabag investment, it will build cubature facilities necessary to install the thermal transformation of the energy fraction from municipal waste along with the recovery of electricity and heat and the construction of accompanying infrastructure.

Access roads and pavements will also be made and squares will be hardened, which cover an area of about 20,000 m².Stations equipped with car scales, washing and disinfection of wheels, radioactive substances detectors, and the area of the entire plant will be fenced will be built.Strabag is responsible for the development and implementation of a replacement construction project and executive projects.

Soletanche is responsible for the implementation of the bunker in the technology of the slit walls, which made its bottom plate, along with 17 barets (specialized foundations also made in the technology of crevice walls), which are designed to transfer loads from the above -ground part of the bunker and neighboring facilities.
