Temperature regulators as a way to an economical heating system

There are many solutions available on the market to control the heating system. Modern gas boilers or heat pumps are equipped with advanced control consoles that control heating depending on the outside temperature. Their operation is best supplemented with room automation, which additionally adjusts the operation of the device to the temperature in the room and the expected thermal comfort. Systems that allow you to control the heating from anywhere using an application on your phone are also becoming more and more popular.

Regulation of the boiler operation with the use of automation is important not only from the point of view of the comfort of the inhabitants of the house. It is also important for environmental protection. Devices working only as intensively as they need to ensure thermal comfort, and not excessively, save energy. And this simply translates into respect for the planet's energy resources.

Weather automation - heating control based on the outside temperature

The control of the heating device based on the outside temperature is carried out by means of the control console installed in the boiler or the internal heat pump unit and the external sensor. The sensor reads the temperature and transmits information about it to the device. If the outside temperature drops, the device will try to compensate for the heat loss by acting on the burner and raising the temperature of the water in the system. Everything is done thanks to the selection of the appropriate heating curve, which depends on the type of installation, type of building, its insulation and many other factors. An experienced installer will play a key role here. The control consoles are not only used to control the operation of the device in heating mode. They also manage domestic hot water production and many other functions.

Because the temperature in a room at a given moment is affected by many more factors than just the temperature outside, often the weather automation is supplemented with room sensors.

Room automation - greater optimization of the device's operation

Thanks to the use of room regulators, it is possible to control the operation of the boiler depending on the temperature in the room and a number of additional settings related, for example, to the time of day. One sensor can be installed in a room considered representative of the entire building or, dividing the heating system into zones, the controllers can be installed in several rooms.

Temperature controllers for an economical heating system

When the temperature in the room increases, because there are more people in it or devices that raise the temperature (e.g. an oven or fireplace) operate, the heating device, based on the information provided by the room thermostat, stops working until the temperature in the room drops below the expected one. Room automation also allows you to control heating in rooms due to the time of day or the presence or absence of household members. The operation of the device can be programmed in daily and weekly mode and set its schedule according to your needs.

The use of room automation allows you to increase the efficiency of the device by up to several percentage points. During the year, this brings real savings and makes heating more ecological. Modern room regulators also operate in remote mode and allow you to control the operation of the heating device even when away from home.

Heating regulation - offer overview

The devices offered by BDR Thermea are equipped with the most modern systems that allow you to adjust their operation depending on the specifics of the installation and the user's needs. They can also be extended with room regulators that will increase the comfort and efficiency of the heating system.

DIEMATIC Evolution is a microprocessor-controlled console that has integrated regulation with influence on the burner depending on the outside temperature. It is pre-programmed in the factory, it gives a wide range of settings depending on the specific installation: from the simplest to the very complex.

The console controls the boiler circuit and can be equipped with an additional DHW sensor. and expand with room automation or remote dialogue control. DIEMATIC Evolution allows direct access to all settings in an intuitive way. It has a large LCD screen with clear explanation of all parameters, graphical representation of heating characteristics, display of temperature curves and fault history, which helps in diagnostics. The console has buttons for selecting operating modes, temperature and access to individual programs, as well as a knob for adjusting and confirming the set values. The console additionally allows you to define up to 6 different operating programs and 6 temperature levels to adjust the comfort at any time and according to the user's habits.

BDR Thermea also offers various room thermostats: non-programmable qSense, programmable iSense cooperating with selected boilers, as well as the advanced Smart TC thermostat that allows remote control of the installation.

Smart TC is a modern room thermostat which, thanks to the connection to the home Wi-Fi network, allows for remote control and operation of the installation via a smartphone or tablet. Thanks to the regulator, you can use many operating modes and precisely program the operation of the heating device. The controller operates in manual, frost protection, holiday and external heat mode. It allows you to create up to three weekly programs, taking into account, for example, different hours of staying at home. Smart TC includes energy consumption indicators for hot water. and heating. It is possible to program the contact details of the installer.

The room thermostat has an attractive design and additionally has a presence detection function, thanks to which the main display screen lights up for 5 seconds when a person is in front of the Smart TC (presence detection can be turned off).

The thermostat supports devices: MCR3 evo, Evodens AMC, Alezio S, Alezio S V200, Alezio M, Alezio M V200, HPI S, Strateo.
