The CITIGOe iV is a very important car in the 125-year history of Skoda, as it is the first fully electric car of the brand. The vehicle is based on a Citigo with a combustion engine, but a number of stylistic changes have been made to distinguish the electric version. You can see them from afar, as the CITIGOe iV's kidney grille and air intakes are in body color. In addition, the front bumper is new, optimized for better aerodynamics in order to reduce energy consumption. LED daytime running lights and fog lights are standard equipment of the car. The side indicators, on the other hand, have been moved to the black or body color side mirror housings. The CITIGOe iV also features a large Skoda lettering on the boot lid, and changes have been made to the cabin as well. The dashboard was redesigned and decorated with a decorative foil. The Ambition version is black and the Style is silver. In this version, the interior also features chrome-plated door handles, handbrake lever and steering wheel covered with leather, while on both versions, the gear lever is covered with leather with green decorative stitching. Green stitching is also found on the seat upholstery, but the most important change to the CITIGOe iV compared to the combustion engine version is the drive. A synchronous electric motor with a power of 61 kW, or 83 HP, was used. The advantage of this drive is the relatively high torque of 212 Nm available from the moment the vehicle is started. Another advantage is that the CITIGOe iV engine is emission-free and the driver can choose between three driving modes. The maximum engine power can be used in Normal mode. The other two are for more fuel-efficient driving, e.g. around the city. Importantly, the range of the car is 260 km. This distance is sufficient for daily commuting in city traffic over the course of a week. The engine draws its energy from a battery located under the floor of the car. The battery has a capacity of 36.8 kWh, of which 32.3 kWh is the usable capacity. As the manufacturer assures, such a location does not affect the amount of space in the cabin. However, it improves driving characteristics, as the center of gravity of the vehicle is lower. The Skoda electric battery can be charged in three ways. The fastest way is to charge CCS (Combined Charging System). The car can then be connected to a quick charging station. It then takes an hour to charge the battery to 80 percent. On the other hand, when connected to a Wallbox wall charging station, we can charge the batteries to 80 percent in 4 hours and 15 minutes. The CITIGOe iV can also be charged from an ordinary 2.3 kW electrical outlet. And because we rarely use the full potential of the car's range during the day, we can safely recharge it after returning from work only using a traditional 230V socket. Our car will be charged in the morning, and the interior will be cooled or heated - depending on the season. The battery is also charged during each braking of the vehicle, thanks to the so-called energy recuperation. Skoda CITIGOe iV has not only a modern and ecological drive. The car is also distinguished by rich equipment. The standard includes: such elements as: Climatronic automatic air conditioning, electric windows in the front, remote-controlled central locking and high-quality upholstery of the seats. Remote access to the car is an interesting fact. It is possible thanks to Connect online services for mobile phones. The Move & Fun app offers an e-Manager function that shows the remaining range as well as energy flow in the car and recovered energy. Using this application, you can also program the management of charging and air conditioning. CITIGOe iV can be seen in the new ŠKODA campaign "What drives you", promoting the first electric and hybrid cars in the brand's offer. The singer Mela Koteluk has taken a liking to this neat city model. Skoda's electromobility strategy assumes that by 2025 the brand will have as many as 10 electric and hybrid models in its range. From now on, every fourth Skoda sold will be equipped with one of two types of drive - either an electric motor or a plug-in hybrid drive.
