Police: Grandma's Day and Grandpa's Day - let's take care of them together!

On January 21 and 22, many of us will wish our beloved grandmothers and grandparents. What to wish them on this day? That they would be safe on a daily basis.

Police statistics show that in Poland the most frequently committed crimes to the detriment of the elderly are theft, burglary and fraud. Therefore, it is worth spending a moment on this day to talk to seniors about their safety. This year we are still dealing with a special event on its scale, we are talking about a pandemic, which is often an opportunity for frauds and tricksters who take advantage of good-naturedness, a high level of empathy and a lowered level of vigilance of elderly and lonely people, impersonating their family members institutions or institutions. What should you talk to grandparents about to protect them from criminals?

Below are some tips prepared by policemen, which can be great topics for common conversations with the family:

Dear grandson, remember! One of the best gifts you can give your beloved grandparents will be frequent contacts, time devoted to them and joint talks about security, including those related to digital acceleration, e.g. in the field of modern technologies.

DEAR SENIORS - BE AWARE! If you witness disturbing events, call 112.

Also use the NATIONAL SAFETY THREATS MAP. Thanks to this application, you can easily and anonymously contribute to the improvement of security using a computer or telephone. Reports placed on the map are sent to police officers who directly deal with the solution of the indicated problem.

You can also always ask your DISTRICT for help! You can find the contact to the district district on the websites of the Police units and in the MY COMMAND application.
