The history of Superba is much shorter than Mondeo, because it dates back to 2001.and we already have the third generation of this model.It seems the prettiest.Skoda's flagship limousine, whose new edition has just entered the market, has become really interesting by shedding the burden of a boring classic.Immediately after the premiere, there were voices that it is much more attractive than Passat, and it's hard to disagree.The interior is different.Here, emotions cool, because from the design of the dashboard it blows sharply with a German canon.But in a moment it turns out to be not important, because Superb intrigues something completely different.It amazes the spaciousness of the passenger compartment and the boot capacity.In this respect, towering only over Mondeo.He simply spreads other rivals in the classroom.

In favor of Superba it is also a comparison of performance.The Czech car has a smaller engine capacity and a maximum power lower by 10 HP, but it has a higher barrier moment, achieved at lower speeds.It is also 90 kg lighter.Thanks to these advantages, it turns out to be a better sprinter, reaching "a hundred" by 0.6 seconds faster.It also has a much smaller fuel appetite.If this is at least partly due to an additional mechanical compressor, supporting the turbocharger, it certainly pays to mount it.The Ford engine, however, deserves words of appreciation, because Ecoboost in terms of work culture and uniformity of characteristics is fully comparable to Volkswagen TSI.Let's add that both units are very modern constructions.Have direct gas injection and top -up.The chassis of both cars do not raise any objections.Both conducting and precision of steering systems are fully comparable.

The price is remains, more attractive in the case of Skoda.The cheapest mondeo with a gasoline, 125-horsepower engine 1.0 Ecoboost costs PLN 90,000.For the cheapest superba with gasoline 1.4 TSI with 125 HP you have to pay PLN 79,500, PLN 10,500 less.The difference between the compared versions is not so large, because it is PLN 6,300.But it's still a large sum.How do the Czechs do it?Maybe they save on equipment?Let's check.In terms of serial equipment covered by the Mondeo table, it stands out from Superba with one important element - there is no automatic air conditioning.It can be purchased in the package, costing PLN 2990.There are also no electric glass controllers in the rear door, but this can be supplemented for only PLN 400.Other elements of the serial equipment offered by Ford include, among others, an intelligent IPS safety system, integrating the operation of safety systems and properly controlling the filling of airbags (minimization of injuries), tire pressure monitoring, multi -functional steering wheel (in Skoda PLN 800 surcharge) and a key with the possibility of programming functions(My key).Skoda opposes this electronic XDS+differential lock, rear parking sensors, electrically controlled trunk lid and cruise control, for which you have to pay PLN 1550 in Ford.Let's add that both cars have a whole package of electronic security systems controlling traction and brakes.In this respect they fall out great.

It is difficult to clearly compare the list of standard equipment in both cars, but in general this phase can be considered a tie with an indication of Skoda.So let's consider what can be bought.Here, Mondeo in the Ambiente version does not give Superb in the Active version no chance.First of all, you can equip the car with such important elements as the collision prevention system at low speeds (PLN 1,700) or inflatable seat belts, reducing the possibility of damage (PLN 850).You can also order reflectors illuminating corners (PLN 800), heated front glass (PLN 800), heated front and rear seats (PLN 2600), front and rear parking sensors (PLN 2700) and even a panoramic roof (PLN 3,900).

Summary

Both cars are large, comfortable, well finished and modern cars.Each of them, of course, has its own style, but generally both Ford and Skoda present a kind of mixture of sport and elegance.As long as the selection would be decided by aesthetics, everything remains a matter of taste.When the superb numbers are at stake, it doesn't give the rival any chances.Ford loses, although it rides as pleasantly as skoda and gives you the opportunity to better retrofit the car.The problem is that it will be difficult to find any candidate for victory over Superb in the middle class at the moment.So it can be calm about the leading position in the C segment.
