Chapter - first selection, s.29-34

There were a lot of candidates for the platoon, and few places. We were preparing for these exams together.I learned from an elderly friend how to properly roll up a military blanket to fix him correctly to the backpack.

60-kilometer marching

We didn't have many tips, and we were waiting for the first very important and difficult stage, i.e. a marching in full military equipment at a distance of about 60 kilometers. It was my first important selection.(...)

On Sunday at dawn, when the whole school was still asleep, and the rest of the cadets were on their passes in their family homes, me and other candidates stood at the first stage of selection. After the initial verification, we were loaded on the Star military trucks and taken to the training ground.

The whole group - several dozen people - started running after leading commandos from the platoon of special activities. Our equipment and equipment resembled the times of World War II: a metal helmet, sapper blade, backpack with thin braces, striped, blanket, gas mask, OP1 protective clothing, additionally in the backpack, spare lingerie, pamA supply of water in a manner ...

Equipment elements were extremely uncomfortable and infaming in each part of the body with each step more and more. And so the candidates began to crumble slowly.I remember running at a crazy pace behind the leaders to stay at the forefront. The training ground seemed to be endless.I've never made such a distance with such uncomfortable and heavy equipment before.

"Who goes on?Who stays? "

The day was over and we still didn't know how much we are ahead of us.At one point we came to the training ground and the leader issued the command: "Stop".We all picked up hard, and now we had a chance to stop for a while, catch our breath and improve uncomfortable equipment. But another task was waiting for us.

We had to answer in writing to very difficult and uncomfortable questions. One of them was particularly remembered: "Would you sacrifice your family to perform the task?". Oddaliśmy kartki, po czym jeden z prowadzących zapytał głośno: "Who goes on?Who stays? ".It turned out that at this stage the next few candidates decided to end the selection.

Others who took up the challenge went around about a kilometer to get into the cars and go to school.Again, it turned out that determination in pursuing the goal was the basis of victory. That day I came back completely finished, but incredibly happy.

I defeated my weaknesses, I found myself in a small group of people who have passed this stage positively and qualified for the next one.It was the hardest to get up in the morning the next day.Monster soreness and blisters on my feet practically prevented me from moving.I felt like my body was tearing into pieces.I couldn't move my arms or legs.

"I fought for every second"

Colleagues from the room who did not take part in the marching, helped me send a bed.I learned that in the afternoon we have fitness exams, i.e., among others, 3000 meters running, 50 meters swimming, diving, pulling on a stick, jumping on the chest.

How great strength lies in a man who has the right motivation that he can do to the next and next effort?Even in such a situation, when you can't get out of bed in the morning, and in the afternoon you use this amazing power to run, swim and jump. This only happens and only when you are properly motivated to act.

When you set your goals that lead you to your dreams.I fought for every second, every pulling to go to the next stage.I qualified for the next round.I was very happy, but I knew that this was still not the end of the fight, that there was another stage of the selection to the elite platoon of special activities.

Unknown military organizational culture

Premiera książki

Was a warm October morning.A small group of motivated boys stood to the penultimate stage of the selection. As before, we were transported by Star trucks to the Biedrusko training ground. We waited for further orders for the collection.

After a while, an oncoming UAZ military off -road vehicle appeared to our eyes.He stopped next to us and a well -built lieutenant Malec in a red beret got out of it.He had an incredibly penetrating look.

He greeted us very kindly and explained the rules. Then he handed us maps with the coordinates of the first point we were to reach. It was my first contact with a completely unknown military organizational culture.

Until now, everyone shouted, ordered to run without the possibility of any rational explanation, until a completely different man suddenly appears here, who made such a charisma such a powerful impression that he did not need to shout or force anything, and we all stood and listened to him almost onapnea. That day we didn't know how many surprises were waiting for us.

Fight for dreams

Initially, the march seemed simple. We didn't have to run, we did everything at our own pace.Of course, we realized that we should perform tasks as soon as possible - after all, it was a selection, and we fought for a place in a dream platoon.

In small groups we reached the first control point and there we got the coordinates of the next one.The most important was the correct reading of the map, but unfortunately none of us had much experience in this important military field. The maps were also not the latest, although they reflected the field wilderness quite well.

The next hours had.Fatigue and constant uncertainty whether we were going well, made themselves felt.Autumn 1994 was warm and extremely colorful.

The forest looked beautiful, colorful leaves fell off the trees, and the singing of forest birds sounded around. And in this beautiful scenery we - fighting for their dreams came to commandos. This is how the next hours of march and cooperation between us passed. In the end we stayed in the group of four. The rest disappeared somewhere or lost in forest wilderness. It has already become very dark, and behind us it was over eighty kilometers of march. That's when we saw a small light far ahead of us.We approached him, believing that it means the end of this monstrous effort.

Cooperation with the key to success

It turned out that it was indeed the last control point - finish.Yes, we were the first! We saved our names and calmly waited for further orders. To this day I remember how happy I was.I reached the finish line incredibly tired, but satisfied with a well -done task.

Already then it turned out that in addition to psychocytic strength, the test was also subject to the ability to cooperate in the group. The candidates who decided to act themselves have found out very severely. Most of them confused forest roads and got lost. One of these independent candidates was found late at night in one of the surrounding towns, dehydrated and exhausted.

Once again, I have found that confidence and my skills, good preparation and cooperation in the group and the ability to cope with stress bring the desired results. This time I found myself in the group of four best candidates for a special platoon.

Signal from the last to the first and forward to the main entry point. We keep the sectors, one observes the door.I am heavy, I carry a disc load, with which I will blow up the entrance door in a moment.I tightly apply the load to the door, stretch the cable with the detonation system, I look if everyone is in positions, and I shout: "lighter!".There is an explosion.Dust, smoke and the smell of explosive fills our respiratory tract.Adrenaline is so strong that we operate mechanically like robots. The door falls inside with impetus. In the corridor, shields with terrorists, rapid arrows are fired.Command: "check".There are no surprises, all the goals are liquidated.

Reorganization and preparation for the next entrance. We are not safe in the corridor, so we position ourselves against the wall. The next sections flood the rooms. One informs us that the section on the opposite side of the corridor is preparing to blow up the door."Lighter!"And in a moment we hear the explosion.Almost nothing can be seen in the tight corridor, but we go further to the next room.It is one that decides which side of the door we set ourselves.I go to the opposite side than one and evaluate the door, "load!"Jedynka screams.I pull a short curled load to the castle from the overalls pocket, wipe a tactical place with a tactical glove, where I will stick it in a moment.Load and armed load.I stretch the cable with the detonation system, I look if everyone is in positions, and I scream again: "The lighter!".The door falls out and the section enters the room quickly. You can't see much inside, but we identify goals through the foggy goggles and arrows. It's tight, the missiles fly right next. One second of inattention and you can kill a friend."Check".I approach the first shield.Four holes on the bullets: one in the head and three in the chest.Next shield: Three in your head, four in the chest.

"Purely".Preparation for the exit.Catching your breath, patting the shoulder from the end and one goes out into the corridor.Next room. One positions at the door.I go to the other side with four."Load!"Jedynka screams."Block" - I answer."Shotgun hinges".Two shots and a jam.

Four is ready to open mechanical, I withdraw and at the same time four of the Hooligan fin into the space between hinges and door frames.A large lever and doors fall out.Flashbang falls into the room and one goes inside, then the next one behind it.Smoke, dust and bang.Everything happens rapidly. In the room, a shield with hostage.Shots are falling.

"Purely".We are gathering to leave.Next room."Shotgun Castle".A few precise shots, the door opens and we are inside.Sweat floods our faces, not much can be seen through the foggy goggles. However, we must focus and correctly identify the goals. There are several shots, the opponent is neutralized.End of the responsibility zone.We catch our breath again and leave the room.Preparation for evacuation. We collect hostages. We hear the slogan on the radio: "Evacuation".It's time for us."Land, landing, landing!".This time everything went well.
