MP Łukasz Mejza suspended his political activity, he will be on unpaid leave until December 31, but he remains the deputy minister of sport and tourism. Publicists discussed the situation around the politician on TVN24. According to Patryk Michalski from Wirtualna Polska, "the time for checking was earlier, now it should be the time for specific decisions". In the opinion of Zuzanna Dąbrowska ("Rzeczpospolita"), the case of Mejza "is so unpleasant and smelly that it spoils this beloved image that PiS is trying to nurture in the best possible way."

Wirtualna Polska has recently published a number of articles describing the activities of the former company of the current deputy minister of sport and tourism, offering trips abroad to terminally ill people (including children), including those suffering from cancer, alzheimer's or parkinson's disease. The company was to offer expensive treatment with methods recognized all over the world as untested and dangerous. According to the portal, the business of Łukasz Mejza did not work out, but he left behind many deceived patients and their families.

>> "Hope woke up in me, contact broke off. I'm trying to get myself together" >> "They played on our feelings. They gave us and my daughter hope"

Mejza announced on Friday that he had "suspended" his political activities. He explained that he had applied for unpaid leave at the ministry (it is to last until December 31) and that he asked the Marshal of the Sejm "for a leave from performing parliamentary duties". Earlier this week, he organized a meeting with journalists in which he stated that he had been affected by "the worst attack since 1989". He argued that the attack was directed not only directly at him, but also hit the present parliamentary majority.

Sprawa Łukasza Mejzy.

Publicists on TVN24 discussed the situation regarding politics in the morning.

Dąbrowska: everyone is afraid to untie the bow

Zuzanna Dąbrowska ("Rzeczpospolita") drew attention to the requests for prosecution in the case of Łukasz Mejza, which had already been "filed a long time ago". - And if this procedure were to be implemented, it is not known what else could be worked on - she assessed. - It is not known whether Łukasz Mejza did any very profitable business with other people from the United Right community - she said.

- Mejza is nicely packed in shiny paper, put somewhere in the freezer and everyone is afraid to untie the bow - added Dąbrowska.

In her opinion, the case of Mejza "is so unpleasant and smelly that it spoils the beloved image that PiS is trying to nurture in the best possible way."

Michalski: the time for checking was earlier, now it should be the time for specific decisions

According to Patryk Michalski (Wirtualna Polska), "Łukasz Mejza is now sending a message to Law and Justice." - Because PiS demanded that Mejza suspend his duties in the Ministry of Sport, meanwhile the deputy minister also announced that he would like to go on leave from parliamentary duties, which is a clear signal that 'if you have such expectations towards me, I do not have to vote together with you, 'commented the journalist.

As he added, "we will see if Łukasz Mejza will appear in the Sejm during this holiday and will fight for his". - I think that a win for him would be to ensure that he will be able to survive the term of office in peace and that he will not be disturbed by prosecution proceedings - he said.

Michalski emphasized that "it is a scandal that the deputy minister has not yet answered questions from the journalists of Wirtualna Polska who revealed this scandal, and that he was not checked by the services when he took office". - It is unthinkable. The time for checking was earlier, now there should be a time for specific decisions, including the resignation to which the politicians of Law and Justice are calling - he added.
