Since Jimny is a car different from everyone we have traveled so far, we will divide the text into 3 parts: city driving, wtress driving and finally driving in the field.This is due to the completely different feelings that this Japanese sweetener aroused in us in these three environments, so it would be unfair to give judgments without their clear distinction.

Suzuki Jimny as a small city car?

I learned with some curiosity that in 2019 Jimny was the winner of the "World Car of the Year" award in the city car class.City cars.Urban?Seriously?Given the elements evaluated in the competition, it's a bit hard to agree.On the other hand, the same award was received in 2021 Honda E, so hey, I'm not going to regret Jimny a bit of glory.The more that it actually has several strengths as a city car.

One of his greatest advantages are dimensions.Modest 3480 mm long and 1645 mm wide cause you to press with this car everywhere and you will not even sweat because Jimny can boast of a wonderful turn - just 4.9m!The manufacturer has added a cherry on the cake in the form of great visibility, so even a little skilled driver will park in any way without the use of cameras and stress.Usually with a new car for a given driver, which is not equipped with parking sensors or camera, you need a moment to feel the car and not attach a pole or a neighbor, but not here.Here you can see all the corners of the car perfectly, so parking is a pleasure.Because the car is relatively high (1 725 mm), it gives the driver a view of the environment better than many SUVs and believe, you will appreciate it in a crowded city.Pedestrians, cyclists ....You can see them from afar.

Everything is cool, the things I wrote about are really important and important in the city, but there are some elements that you can attach to.From the outside, Jimny looks superstitious.This small lime roadster every now and then caused a smile on the faces of people and when I saw her live, I probably had the same expression on my face.It got a little worse when I got inside.I understand that it is an off -road car for less than 100,000.PLN, so you shouldn't expect luxuries from him, but I didn't expect something like that.I got in and the only thing I saw is plastic.Not some plastic, but dark gray, rough, nasty plastic.He was everywhere.Knobs and buttons ....Well, you have photos, look and rate yourself.I suspect that if you got into Jimny from 2005, there would be no special difference, except for the multifunctional steering wheel and the fact that the middle vents and radio swapped places.And yes, I wrote the radio.Without an additional payment, you won't get any, even the simplest screen.The radio supports Bluetooth, but we will only pair the phone while stopping.If you already move and forget about pairing the devices, the function will be inaccessible and you have a radio.Well, unless you have any CDs in stock.

As befits a city car, Jimny is a 2-person coupe ... 馃槈 Well, maybe not.It is true that it is a 2-person variant.I expected it to be tight inside and you would have to sit up as vertically as much as possible.None of these things.Sitting can be moved freely, making space for a small bag, or a light backrest position.

The trunk is thanks to this large size.You just have to remember that it opens to the side.We happened to park with our back to another car once and then the reflection came - Well, how will we take out?There is a lot of space for luggage.It is a pity that the grille is screwed, which is somewhat hindering its quick disassembly.You could also use any handles on the back, because if, for example,.We will throw one backpack into the trunk, it will happily move through the entire surface.

Suzuki Jimny on the road is a challenge for the persistent

We will probably not surprise anyone by saying that Jimny's riding on the fast route is a hardware.I don't even mean its maximum speed here.The manufacturer honestly warns us that we will not get more than 140 km/h from this car, and reaching this speed requires a huge section of a free road, riding downhill and preferably with the wind in the tail.So we will not write about acceleration, for what?Accelerates as he accelerates, when overtaking trucks you will often feel the impatient panting of drivers driving behind you and run to the right lane as the fastest as possible.Such a life.

What causes Jimny to be difficult on the route is its mass and block.The minimum weight of the car without a load is only 1090 kg, we weighted them by OK.170 kg (people + luggage), so in total it gave about 1260 kg, not much.Considering his damn high ground clearance (210 mm) and generally an angular figure, about something like aerodynamics is not even worth mentioning.If we combine these two things and add a gusty windy wind as a gift - get ready for a fight.It will throw, peel and abandon you and you will finally come to the conclusion that on the route with a limit of 120 km/h, 100 km/h is a very good speed, faster a little fear.It will be better without the accompanying wind, but not much.It will go more efficiently, but still noisy.

Here we enter the next topic, so in soundproofing.What can I say, Jimny is not very soundproofed.Even if the weather is practically windless, at speeds above 100 km/h, the noise is terrible and you need to save yourself with loud music from which you will not enjoy special pleasure because the sound system is, to put it, in a shame, quite medium quality.After all, these are only two speakers placed in the door.Which in addition is easy to cover with your foot.

I would love to write something positive about Jimny on the road, but I really can't.It was pain.Constant maximum focus, waving the steering wheel as if I had looseness of the decade, noise, permanent escape to drivers invading my ass when overtaking ....After a 2-hour route, I felt as tired as I spent all day behind the wheel.As a bonus, I will add to you that Jimny burned 8.0l on the road.A little lime.In the city, the fuel consumption was slightly lower, around 7.6l, and in the field just over 8l.

Jimny in the field feels like a fish in the water

Let's leave far behind the city and the express route and focus on what is the best in Jimny, and therefore on the road in the field!However, before we get to how the car is doing, let's stop for a moment when the manufacturer armed it.

The first thing to look out for is the steering.Jimny is equipped with a screw -ball system, which nowadays is easier to find in trucks and tractors than in passenger cars.So why was our small roadster equipped with it?I delved into the rabbit burial of specialized sources of which I didn't understand anything, until I finally went to my head and asked the mechanic.It turns out that (without going into technology) this system allows for a larger turn radius with lower strength.This happens at the expense of the precision of the lead, but when driving on difficult terrain it is much more important.

Jimny's drive is another important element.We have a 4 脳 4 drive with a reduction transmission at our disposal.This means that we decide on the configuration in which the car moves, using an additional gear that is behind the gearbox.We have 3 options to choose from: one axle drive (city, route etc..) and 2 drive configurations for both axles.The first, standard, is intended for off -road driving, which, however, is not a special challenge for the car.I mean some ruts, some snow and the like.The second option is associated with a completely different category of fun.Setting the gear into 4L mode causes a significant increase in torque reaching the wheels at the expense of reducing the speed of the car on a given gear.Simplifying the matter - if you enter a very steep terrain or on a wetland and the wheels really begin to bury, 4L mode will allow the car to get out of trouble.

Earlier I mentioned Jimny's substantial clearance (210 mm).On the road, this element works to the detriment of the car, but in the field causes us to afford a lot.According to the manufacturer, the car can boast of an impressive descent (49 掳), attack (37 掳) and ramp (28 掳).We didn't measure it, but taking into account the places where we entered, I can believe it.

Ok, all this sounds sensible in theory, so let's get to practice.Until now, we have only once tested the car in difficult terrain, but we were limited by its sizes.We could not enter many places for fear of damage to the varnish, but in the case of Jimny there was no problem, because the car is small and equipped with bumpers that protect it from scratches.So we went to G艂臋bokie Podlasie and the fun began.Ramps, exits, forests, fields, ruts, mud ... There was everything.At some point we drove so deep into the forest that we had to get off and move broken branches of the trees so as not to leave beautiful, deep sides on the sides.We tried to make Jimny as much difficulties, but I'm afraid that with a meager effect.We had to look for a place where the reducer would actually need it and I must admit that it was hard to find such.

I knew about the existence of one "road" on which my friend recently buried, so I thought that maybe this bajer would be useful there.It looked promising, because although the area was flat, this road was simply a belt of deep, loose sand mixed with snow, full of powerful ruts after tractors.Unfortunately, there was no such need.What is the disadvantage of the car on the road is one of its biggest advantages.I mean Jimny's mass.Due to the fact that it is so light, it does not need large amounts of power to get out of the fat.Ultimately, we managed to find something that was probably the path between two fields, in addition with a steep driveway and somewhere at 1/3 Jimny clearly began to be lacking, so the use of the reducer was finally justified.You could feel the increased torque supplied to the wheels and the car calmly overcame the obstacle, which with a regular drive could overwhelm.

Until now, I haven't blessed my mind with tramps, because I didn't see any charm in it.Yes, I always liked walking in the woods, but using my own legs, not 4 wheels.Only during this test did I find out what fun it could be!It was only there that I really appreciated this small, inconspicuous roadster.Jimny fits everywhere, and thanks to its design, it allows you to get rid of the fear that in pursuit of a beautiful scenery we will get stuck on some unhindant, without reach, wondering how to reach civilization.On the contrary, this car will encourage you to get more boldness and pack in places that you would avoid another vehicle from afar.Overcoming subsequent obstacles will give you no less fun than beautiful views.Although I come from those sides, I saw many places for the first time, because before I just had the opportunity to get there differently than about my own legs, and I grow multi -kilometer walks rather in the mountains.I only regret that the test took place in winter.The landscapes were beautiful, but in the summer they would simply be wonderful.

I will add only one attention.Just like for the city, it is worth buying a radio with a screen and navigation, so for off -road driving, rubber rugs will be useful.It is true that we came across cold and relatively dry weather, but nevertheless because of the constant getting off and getting on to take pictures I had so much sand under my feet that I could overdo the flowers.Rubber rugs would be enough to remove and shake, it wasn't that simple here.

For people looking for an extremely off -road car, Suzuki Jimny is an obvious choice.The potential buyer does not have a great field to show off.He can take an old, several -year -old roadster for a fraction of its price.He can decide on new Jeep Wrangler or Mercedes G-class cars at a price of up to five Jimnych.Or Lada Niva remains.Which is cheaper than Suzuki, but worse made and there is only spart in the interior.That is why Jimny, despite the fact that he has recently risen, remains almost unrivaled.
