Every girl sometimes dreams of a knight in shiny armor, who saves her from a dangerous dragon.I - a declared feminist and an independent person - sometimes I dreamed about him.Of course, I would never admit it loudly.Even ahead of itself.

I live in an old tenement house in Łódź.I work as a German language translator.Actually, I spend most of my time at home, I leave my hollow only to meet my friends, move the dog for a walk or shop.My family lives in Silesia, so I don't often see them.Last winter, fate put a man on my way, whom I probably would never notice. And yet he saved my life.

I loved my apartment

Two years ago I bought a small but charming apartment in a tenement house.I've always dreamed of such high reters. In addition, I live near a street full of shops, clubs and restaurants.I love this place.I am not isolated from cultural and entertainment life, and with my lonely lifestyle it is important, because from time to time you have to "go out to people" so as not to wild.

I love my job, but sometimes when my eyes hurt from staring at another text or back from sitting in front of the computer or I just have enough of being alone - I put the coat and leave.

A few dozen meters from my tenement house is a charming cafe, where you can drink delicious coffee. There is also a beautiful park nearby, where I walk with my dog.Neptun is a dangerous looking rottweiler, but good.I took him from the shelter. When his story was told, I cried.Someone wanted to have a "silent killer", so he tried to argue him on an aggressive dog and in addition cut his vocal cords. My neighbors know this.Still, Neptun raises respect because he is really powerful.

My small, two -room apartment is very high.I've always dreamed of a mezzanine bedroom and here I was able to do something like that.Friends are also delighted with bay windows and a beautiful old dance floor, which I did not allow you to paint. This place had many pros, but also minuses. One of them was the issue of heating.Gas stoves are installed in our tenement house.I was afraid of it because I still hear about the chad poisoning. However, when I talked to my neighbors, they calmed me down that they had lived here for years and there were never problems with gas installation in the building.

- Dear, you just need to ensure that professionals check the tightness of gas and ventilation ducts from time to time - said the neighbor from below.- And to ventilate the apartment often - the neighbor advised from above.

The neighbor did not arouse my interest

Since regular chimney sweep visits are established, and in addition I usually have the window ajar in the room where I work, I stopped being afraid.I also intended to buy a device monitoring the level of carbon monoxide.

On Valentine's Day I finished an extremely important and urgent translation that took me all night. In the morning I read them again and decided to make a relaxing bath, and then go to sleep.I only led Neptune for a walk. When I was coming back, I met a neighbor from the same floor on the stairs. He lived in a studio apartment next.We passed each other sometimes, I knew he was an IT specialist, like me, he often works at home.

I remember how we laughed with friends from German studies after computer science that they were murmurs, with a hard disk instead of head, in pulled sweaters and in glasses with thick frames.Forever with the nose in the computer. This one looked like just like that.Quite tall, thin, usually in jeans and a sweater, though without glasses.I used to look closer to him."He's not even so bad," I thought."But he needs a woman's hand".He was quite nice and not squinted at all.Sometimes I had the impression that he wanted to talk to me.But somehow it didn't.

That morning he also stopped, as if he were waiting for him to give him a sign, maybe an encouragement for a longer conversation, in any case something more than "good morning".However, I was terribly tired.I just smiled and regardless of the neighbor, I entered my apartment and closed the door behind me.I poured water into the bathtub, I stuffed fragrant salt and after a while I was happy with a relaxing bath.I was sleepy and I knew it was dangerous, but I didn't want to lie for a long time. And give up a warmer bath when you came from a walk in the cold?I couldn't forgive myself.

I woke up ... on the floor in the room

Two emergency sanitary resorts were leaning over me, and next to me, Mariusz - a neighbor from the opposite.First, it seemed to me a dream. However, I was slowly coming back a sense of reality.- What happened?- I asked quietly, because somehow it was difficult for me to get a voice.Mariusz stroked my head."Everything is all right now," he calmed me down. And I think I fell asleep again, because I don't remember anything more.

Later, in the hospital, he told me what happened. The whole story went very quickly.Mariusz was not sure if I fell asleep first or I lost consciousness immediately.- When we met on the stairs, I went to the store. And when I came back after about 15 minutes, I heard that the dog in your apartment is a doors.I was surprised because I remembered that you were just going out for a walk with Neptune, and that you must be at home. And that worried me.I knew that the dog could not bark, and the violence of this scraping was so desperate.I knocked and called, but you didn't open.So I decided to check differently.

It turned out that Mariusz did not give up.

He passed the balcony balcony, which was adjacent to mine and entered my apartment through the slightly ajar window, risking the Rottweiler attack.- I had pepper spray with me just in case, but I didn't want to use it.Anyway, the dog seemed to be good because my intentions were good, because he ran to me, grabbed my sleeve and dragged me to the bathroom. And there you were unconscious.I turned off the stove, pulled you out of the bathroom, opened the windows to the long way and called the ambulance.I started to resuscitate you right away. And it worked.

A surprise was waiting for me at home

I didn't want to inform my parents about what happened. In the end, I left it all, and they would only get angry and again whipping over my loneliness.

Anyway, when I returned to the door of my apartment, I found a beautifully covered table in it, a bouquet of flowers in a vase and Neptune with a large bow at the collar.I immediately guessed whose deal was.Mariusz, who brought me from the hospital, had the keys to my apartment and looked after Neptune during my absence."I don't know how to thank you both," I said and I cried."You can invite me to a late Valentine's dinner," said Mariusz.- I have already prepared everything and just in case I ordered a pizza for two people."Of course," I agreed.

I discovered that my neighbor does not meet the stereotype of boring computer science. From Goethe and Rilke, she pretts to read fantasy literature, but we get along well.

From that dinner, or rather from that resuscitation on the festival of lovers, we are inseparable. When I think about it, I have an obvious association. This is actually a story like a fairy tale that took place not in the old castle, but in an old tenement house. My "knight on a white horse", which was to save me from the tower and defend me against a bad dragon, turned out to be a neighbor from the studio next. The dragon was also a yawning fire (and poisonous fumes), but my knight was not erected by either his or teeth of the big dog and ... he saved me.Valentine's Day have changed everything in my life.As if I was born a second time.
