The door loses its appearance after a few years. Fortunately, we don't have to replace them. Just refresh them. We advise on how to restore old doors and restore their elegant appearance.

Light scratches and abrasions are, contrary to appearances, easy to remove. Damaged places should be cleaned, e.g. by grinding them with fine-grained sandpaper. Then carefully vacuum, wipe with a damp cloth and paint.

When the paint starts to peel off, we have a bit more work to do. The old, flaking coating must be removed. You can scrape it off or dissolve it with a special preparation for removing oil paints. There should be no paint residues in the recesses. Then all cavities and gaps need to be filled and then sanded with sandpaper and wiped with a damp cloth to remove dust.

The prepared surface can be painted. First, we apply a primer and after drying, we paint with a covering paint. Put a small amount of paint on the brush and paint from top to bottom. Make vigorous brush strokes to accurately distribute the paint over the surface. Also, do not leave a thicker layer of paint, e.g. on the edges, as it may streaks

If we have a PVC door, we only need to clean it properly with a mild detergent. Do not use agents containing alcohol or solvents, as they may damage the surface. Cover up minor scratches with special pastes or correction pens.

Warning! Before painting the door, protect the glass surfaces with painter's tape to prevent staining them with paint.
