How to effectively reduce electricity bills? | We are building a house

What will you learn from the article?

The first method - the use of programmers

If you heat your house with electricity, you are certainly planning to implement savings solutions. What to do to make electric heaters automatically reduce their power or turn off completely when you fall asleep an hour before wake up, raise the temperature in the room again? A popular solution is the Kanlux CYBER TM-6 timer. It is a plug socket adapter with a daily digital programmer that allows you to program the switching on and off of any device, from the Kanlux DAIBO LED desk lamp to the home theater. It makes it possible to plan the working hours of any electrical device with an accuracy of one minute and to remember up to 8 different settings, e.g. for each day of the week. Thanks to the readable LCD display, configuration and viewing the current settings takes literally a moment, and the internal memory of the device works for up to 100 hours from the moment of power failure - thanks to this, we will not have to program it again after a power outage or changing the socket.

The second method - the use of mobile solutions

Until recently, programmers reigned supreme, but the rules of the game have changed mobile solutions for controlling the power supply of electrical devices. They entered a new era thanks to devices from the Kanlux SMART ecosystem. It includes intelligent solutions for self-implementation, thanks to which you can control electrical devices at home using a smartphone. It is possible to turn on the heating of the house before the residents return or turn on the lights at any point in the apartment, even when you are in the other hemisphere. The temperature in the bedroom when falling asleep should be 22 degrees, and during the night - 18, so how do you leave the bed at 7:00 am without freezing? All you need to do is connect the heater to the contact via the S AD GN 10A PM adapter, and then set the time you want to switch on in the application on the phone, and the rest will do itself. At the appointed time, the temperature in the bedroom will start to rise, and the morning getting up will be comfortable. You can program that the heater will turn off when you turn on the coffee machine in the kitchen in the morning, and it will turn on again when you open the door of your house in the afternoon. All Kanlux SMART devices can be connected to each other into sequences of operation or controlled by phone without moving from the couch.

The adapter also has a built-in weekly timer with a calendar, random functions and a countdown function. Thanks to this, you can program the switching on and off of various devices at certain times, even when you are not at home. In addition, the adapter has the function of measuring energy consumption by the connected device. Thanks to this, you can find out which of the devices in your home are the most power-hungry and may limit their use when you are not at home.

Third method - a set of motion sensors

Heating, however, is only part of the electricity consumption in your home. Lamps illuminating corridors, vestibules and stairs have a significant share in electricity bills. The latter can be equipped with Kanlulx APUS LED PIR staircase luminaires with integrated motion sensors. When the household member approaches the edge of the steps, they will turn on the lighting or a part of it and leave it on as long as there is any movement in the detector operation zone. A similar solution can be implemented at any point in the house that does not require continuous lighting - in toilets, halls or lockers.

In corridors or bathrooms, you can install a ceiling lamp with a replaceable light source PIRES ECO DL-25O, which has increased protection against moisture (IP44), and its sensor works at a distance of 9 meters. In deep lockers or in wardrobes with clothes, you can install ready-made sets of LEDS SET strips, which are battery powered and have integrated motion sensors. Thanks to this, you will not have to turn on the overhead light when taking things out of the wardrobe. In addition, you can choose battery or battery operation yourself. The stripes will sufficiently illuminate the surface of the furniture, and electricity consumption will be minimal.

The fourth method - independent motion sensors

Kanlux ZONA JQ independent motion sensors can be used wherever light is needed often, but only for a short time, both inside and outside the house. It is a universal motion sensor with a maximum detection range of up to 10 meters. You can adjust the lighting time and the level of light intensity at which the sensor will turn on the light by adjusting it to the parameters of natural lighting. This means that the sensor will activate the lamps connected to it, but only when it is dark, and on a sunny day it will not turn on the lighting unnecessarily. Thanks to this, you will reduce electricity consumption and increase the life span of your lighting. You can successfully use them outside, but also in places where we often forget to turn off the light - such as in a dressing room.

Kanlux ALER JQ-30-B sensors are enough to provide lighting for the immediate vicinity of the house. A small device with a minimalist design, it detects movement from a distance of up to 12 meters, and its operating angle is 165 °. You can adjust the lighting time yourself and it can be from 8 seconds to 5 minutes, and the high degree of protection (IP44) makes it possible to install them in places exposed to adverse weather conditions.

The fifth method - the use of lamps with a solar battery

If we have a garden, we also want it to be illuminated. The larger the garden, the more light we need to make it look good. Garden lighting to be economical should meet several conditions. It should be LED, it must have a motion sensor, and electricity to it should be free. Yes, there are such lamps - you do not even need to have a prepared installation for them and they are not battery operated lamps, but real garden lighting. The Kanlux SOLCA series of solar-powered luminaires stores solar energy during the day to illuminate the space around your home at night. You can additionally choose one of the 3 lighting levels and enjoy free energy all year round. The investment in LED light sources, Kanlux SMART devices, motion or twilight sensors will pay off, depending on the size of the house and the current consumption of electricity, within a few months. In addition, the comfort offered by the possibility of entering a heated house after a long journey, waking up in a warm bedroom in winter, or the light that comes on when we need it, is a good whose value cannot be calculated.
