Why is it worth choosing a concrete fence?

Contrary to appearances, concrete fences are not only the domain of industrial plants or warehouses. They are more and more often seen on private properties.

They stand out:

A concrete fence does not require any special maintenance. It can be painted, but just as well when you plant standard plants or conifers around it, which will mask the raw concrete.

Arranging a garden with a concrete fence can be a bit more difficult, because raw, uncovered or unpainted concrete often gives a gloomy impression. Therefore, it is worth choosing decorative fragments of the fence to make our garden a pleasant place to rest.

Concrete fences are a very practical solution. They can serve us for many years. Reinforced concrete is considered one of the strongest raw materials. It is resistant to frost, wind and other adverse weather conditions.

Dimensions and designs of concrete fences

Manufacturers offer concrete fences in the following sizes:

These three sizes are the most popular, but you will also find manufacturers of fences with a height of 1 m and even 3.5 m. The standard span together with the post is 2 m long.

Think about the function of this fence on your property. Is it supposed to protect against noise, from the eyes of neighbors, or can it act as an anti-burglary system? Once you decide on it, it will be easier for you to choose its height, type (decorative or uncomplicated and simple) and other parameters.

Concrete fence can be one-sided or two-sided. What does it mean? A single-sided fence has a pattern only on the inside of the property, and a double-sided fence on both sides - from the street and from the inside.

How to assemble concrete fences?

The stability of a concrete fence is ensured by the material from which it was made. For the production of concrete fences, a mixture of cement, aggregate and water is used, which form classes C16/20 (B20).

Installation of concrete fences consists in:

  1. Exactly marking out the line in the ground - the place where the concrete fence is to be located.
  2. Measuring the distances between the posts' location points. We embed them in concrete footings with a depth of 60 to 80 cm and dimensions of 40x40 cm.
  3. Wait until the concrete sets. The concrete reaches most of its full strength after about 28 days (at 20°C).
  4. Span elements are inserted into the gaps between the posts. For an interesting decorative effect, you can paint your fence with a special paint for concrete. It is also possible to order this service together with the installation of the fence. Then painting is usually done by spraying, less often by hand.

What is the price of a concrete fence?

A lot depends on the size of our fence, whether it is decorative, whether it is to be very high, and whether we decide on an additional service, such as for example painting a fence?

The average cost of making one concrete panel 150 cm high is about PLN 200. This is not a fixed price, because everything depends on the manufacturer.

There are also other costs to consider, such as:

All prices are indicative, because the prices of building materials are constantly increasing, also for elements of fences and concrete fences.

The final installation price also depends on many factors, such as: whether the foundation has already been on the property, how much area the fence should cover, whether it should be the simplest concrete fence without additional services, whether it is a fence with many elements, or there are lots of slants on the property.

It is assumed that the average price for labor, i.e. the execution of a concrete fence, is approximately PLN 30-40/m. It is worth remembering that even to put up prefabricated concrete fences, you need HDS equipment and several people - a concrete fence is heavy.
