They were walking down the street with a can of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity when they noticed an elderly man lying on the floor through the window of one of the apartments. They called for help immediately. Two teenagers from Chrustów (Greater Poland Voivodeship) were thanked by the voivode and the police commander.

On Sunday, 14-year-old Julia and Gabriela, as part of the 30th Final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, were walking around the village of Chrustowo with a piggy bank. Suddenly, through the window of one of the apartments, they noticed a man lying on the floor. The door to the apartment was locked.

- The girls immediately called one of the mothers to ask for help - informs Izabela Leśnik from the police in Oborniki.

The firefighters arrived and opened the door, allowing the ambulance crew to enter the apartment. The latter decided that due to poor health, the 67-year-old had to be transported to a hospital in Poznań.

- The behavior of teenagers deserves the highest praise and is a role model for everyone. This is an example when the right attitude can save someone's life - emphasizes Leśnik.

They were thanked at school

The adolescent's exemplary behavior was appreciated. On Tuesday, the Voivode of Greater Poland, Michał Zieliński, and the Voivodship Commander of the Police in Poznań, Chief Inspector Piotr Mąka met the volunteers and their families at the school where the girls attend every day. The voivode thanked the volunteers for their courage and maturity in the face of the difficult situation they faced. which in the right place and time can react in such a way that their attitude and actions save human life. I am convinced that thanks to such young people as Julia and Gabriela, our world will be a better and better place - said Michał Zieliński, Voivode of Greater Poland during the meeting.
