Surveillance video cameras seem necessary nowadays.Whether to monitor the school or company or our home, this type of camera ensures safety and may prove invaluable in case of danger.Unifi G3 is a representative of this type of devices.And represents them with dignity.

The installation of the device is very easy.After installing the included software on a computer connected to the same network to the camera, the device is immediately ready for operation and management.No knowledge of network protocols, IP numbers or other such "crap" is required virtually no knowledge.This device simply works: a few minutes after removing the camera from the box, we can already watch the video stream on our laptop.

The camera itself records the image in a maximum resolution of 1080p, but if we do not have too much space to store recordings, it is possible to save them in three different resolutions.Especially since we will not have to worry about the frame: the camera attachment system allows you to set it at any angle.And let's not forget about the module for recording an infrared image, thanks to which the camera will also record a fairly clear image at night, without the need for "support" from artificial lighting.

Interestingly, we will pay relatively little money for the whole thing, about PLN 750.It will be difficult for us to find a device at a similar price with equally high capabilities and equally easy operation.

And if we installed the G3 camera too far to be able to connect it to our wireless network, another gadget from Ubiquiti appears to the rescue.It is about Unifi UAP-AC-PRO, i.e. an access point, whose range, according to the manufacturer's assurances, is up to 120 meters.Of course, we can count on such a result only in ideal conditions, but the ubiquity access punk should still cope where the ordinary router is not doing anymore.Besides, the access point offers much more possibilities.

After opening the box, our eyes will see equipment reminiscent of the shape of a mini-FRISBEE.A round white plastic housing will not be too conspicuous, thanks to which the access point will fulfill its role without unnecessary striking, which for some may prove to be a very important criterion when choosing this type of equipment.A nice accent is also that the manufacturer adds in the box all the necessary screws and handles, thanks to which the UAP-AC-PRO will be installed on both the wall and the ceiling.

The configuration of the device is very simple and is done quickly.Taking all the steps described in the manual in turn, the Unifi access point will be "fired" in less than a quarter of an hour.UAP-AC-PRO supports the 802 wireless standard.11ac and for service does not require a hardware controller - all settings can be changed from a computer with Mac OS, Windows or Linux installed.As for the speed of data transfer, the upper limit is 1300 Mbps (at a frequency of 5 GHz) - such a transfer will of course achieve with the guests off network (Guest Network) and with a single SSID supported by the access point.After launching a larger number of supported connections, the transfer speed will decrease.

The manufacturer reports that UNIFI UAP-AC-PRO is a device that can be mounted outside.The instructions, however, show that the lower limit of the temperature range of the access point operation ends at -10 ST.Celsius.This means that in Poland the outside assembly option is quite limited.

Switch rackowy Edgeswitch 16 150W belongs to another product line of Ubiquiti Networks, called EdgeMax.It includes advanced devices for companies that want to build an advanced network structure or expand the existing LAN network.They are used for this M.in.Just Switch devices, such as the fully managed Edgeswitch 16.

As the name suggests, the device is equipped with 16 gigabit RJ45 ports, but in addition we will also find 2 SFP ports in it (bandwidth up to 1 Gb/s).The total, total bandwidth is therefore 18 Gb/s (without packet losses), while the maximum power consumption is 150 W.The device is suitable for assembly in a Rack server wardrobe (19 inches) - we get all the necessary basket screws and mounting handles, as well as a standard power cable and instructions.

It is worth emphasizing that Edgeswitch 16 150W offers the possibility of supplying connected devices via a Power Over Ethernet, or PoE), with simultaneous data transmission.Thus, devices such as the previously described access point or IP camera - after connecting to this switch - will not require additional power supply.In addition, everything happens automatically: Edgeswitch detects 802 powered devices himself.3AF/AT.However, in the case of devices powered by PEE 24V, it is necessary to manually turn on power in 24V POE mode using the Edgeswitch configuration interface available from the web browser level.
