This car model is the most important Nissan product in Europe and a synonym for a crossover vehicle.It was the Nissan Qashqai in 2007 that initiated the fashion for compact vehicles suspended slightly higher above the ground.Two generations on the Old Continent have sold in over three million copies, and the latest third incarnation is to follow the marked success.Will it work?

When designing this vehicle, Nissan did not exaggerate with anything from the visual side.The external appearance is modern and there is no shortage of flavors that add individuality to the silhouette (interesting headlight shape, characteristic grill dummy with the motif of the letter V, embossed in the front fenders qashqai inscriptions).At the same time, this project, compared to the smaller and much bolder drawn model, has been definitely more stylistically balanced.In this way, it is simply easier to find the tastes of a wider recipient.During the premiere, I learned that the appearance was developed by the Nissan Design Europe based in Centrum London, while the tasks in the field of engineering were performed by the Nissan Technical Center Europe in Cranfield (also in Great Britain).

More space and easier getting in

The bare eye will not notice, but the measure will change the change.The new Qashqai has grown in relation to its predecessor.The wheelbase increased by 20 mm, the total length was increased by 35 mm, the height increased by 25 mm, and the width by 32 mm.Interestingly, up to 20 -inch wheels can now hit the wheel arches - with such a rim the tire has size 235/45 R20.The trunk has grown 74 liters compared to the previous generation model and now has just over 500 liters.The mug of the trunk is lifted and closed automatically with the possibility of a contactless opening.The floor has two levels.I like a clever solution with a half -divided floor plate, some of which can be put on a storm in the form of a lock (maintaining order in the trunk when transporting meshes with purchases guaranteed).

Due to scaling, the vehicle seems larger in the cabin.A car built on the new CMF-C floor plate, which allowed to implement improvements in the field of comfort and safety, as well as electrified drive.The overall of the general impression of a large space prevailing in the cabin is put in a large roof window and wide opening doors (the rear ones allow you to open at an angle of almost 90 degrees).The rear view from the driver's seat is weak, but here the camera throwing the image on a large color screen comes to the rescue.The position behind the wheel, as it happens in the crossovers, allows you to look at the road from above.The improvements include a larger angle of view forward, thinner front posts and placing the side mirrors on the door, not on the front posts to reduce the zone of limited visibility.

The seats are spacious, pleasantly profiled and allow you to adjust in different directions.To make it interesting, electrically controlled Qashqai seats received a massage function and even the memory of settings, which has not been in this model so far.It is also quite comfortable on the couch.Leg space for passengers increased to 608 mm (+28 mm).At the same time, the distance between the driver and the passenger on the front seat was increased.The space above the heads of users at the front and back was increased by 15 mm.Two USB ports were taken to the back from the central tunnel, and the next two were located in the front armrest.There may be an induction charger in the shelf for the console.It is a pity that there is no one USB port here, but there is a 12V socket.

Soft materials and without piano black

What hit me the most during the first examination of Qashqaia is generally perceived, associated with cars of higher segments.The materials used in the finish are soft, pleasant to the touch, bending under the fingers.Not only that, instead of ornaments made of piano black, Nissan focused on a different type of decorative surfaces.In this car we deal with something like brushed plastic - it looks sensational, and thanks to the porous invoice, these panels do not collect fingerprints, do not look from the very look and will look fresh for a long time.

A demonstrative, well -equipped Tekna+version, which I was dealing with, impressed me with solutions.The traditional clock panel has been replaced by a 12.3 "multifunctional TFT screen, which the driver can configure according to his preferences.It offers many ways to display information from the navigation system, entertainment, traffic data and the vehicle condition using a convenient knob on the steering wheel.Its complement is an additional, 10.8 '' HUD (Head-Up Display), which provides the largest image size in this segment.

Buttons and knobs are currently present

Feel that a lot of attention was devoted to aesthetics and ergonomics.Nissan did not give up buttons and regulators to transfer the service to the touch screen level.The cabin ventilation panel is still classic, the audio system can be managed buttons and knobs, and shortcuts to the most important functions are still on hand on the buttons.

Information and entertainment system with a 9-inch screen has a wide set of integrated functions-including easy and trouble-free connection of smartphones, an internal Wi-Fi network supporting seven devices and NissanConnect Services, a special application that is used to communicate with the car and monitor its functions.The system is a digital interface of navigation, information, entertainment and car settings, compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (also wirelessly).The menu is logical and the speed of good operation, which is confirmed by immediate reactions when pinning your fingers on the map.Some car functions can be controlled remotely from the NissanConnect Services application on your smartphone.Home-to-Car functions are compatible with Google and Alexa Alexon assistant.

Even better power steering systems

Versatile driver support while driving is one of the main assumptions of the Nissan brand.That is why the new Qashqai offers a lot of amenities that make it easier and more enjoyable driving.The car is equipped with an improved propilot system from Navi-Link.System M.in.automatically adjusts the vehicle speed to changing road conditions, e.g..when changing speed limits or approaching a sharper curve.Propilot reading road signs and using navigation data does it automatically, without the driver's participation.

What's more, the system communicates with sensors monitoring the so -called.dead field of view.Due to the appropriate correction of the steering wheel, it helps to intervene to prevent the maneuver to change the lane.Thanks to the optimized function of warning the detection system of moving objects, the new Qashqai can also intervene to prevent collision when leaving the rear place from the parking space, by starting the braking system and stopping the car in the event of detecting near the moving obstacle.The headlights are matrix with Full LED technology.

Electrified range of engines

The first meeting with the novelty of Nissan was static, so I have no idea how this car drives.I only know that this vehicle will appear in several versions of the propulsion system after sales.Nissan as a pioneer of non -emission drives consistently strives to achieve its goal, so that in Europe by 2024 electrified cars constitute 50 percent.its sale.That is why the new generation Qashqai already in the basic version received the gasoline engine known from the previous model 1.3 DIG-T, armed this time with Mild Hybrid technology.In the design of this unit, as many as 50 elements have been designed again.The soft hybrid system will be available in two variants-with a power of 140 HP and 158 HP-with a 6-speed manual transmission or a new Xtronic transmission.The stronger variant will also be available with four -wheel drive.

In 2022, the Nissan Qashqai will also receive an e-power hybrid drive system debuting on the European market, in which the wheels are driven only with an electric motor, and the internal combustion unit is used only for the production of electricity and recharging the battery.This is a unique solution that guarantees driving impressions like a 100 percent electric car, i.e..in.Very dynamic and smooth acceleration.The e-power system includes a large capacity battery and an internal combustion engine 1.5 liters with 154 HP with a variable compression, power generator, inverter and 188 HP electric motor.

How much does the new Nissan Qashqai cost?

Nissan Qashqai makes a great first impression.Has an effective design, and the comfortable cabin has grown a little.Despite the deposit of the screens, it was possible to maintain good ergonomics, which is not so obvious in new cars, and a lot of solutions that increase the comfort of use will certainly satisfy customers.It is not known how much it will all cost and how the base version cut off from the goodies.The price list is in preparation and we will get to know it in spring, and cars will physically park in Polish salons only this summer.For now, it is known that the car on the market will appear in 11 body colors and 5 two -colored combinations, i.e. in total in 16 different variants to choose from.

No matter what Qashqai will have the price, he won't be light on the automotive market.The same model has prepared strong competition in the segment of the above -suspended compacts and now he has to push his elbows between them.It is good that the engine range has not been limited to only one motor and construction was not cast with an optional four -wheel drive.Thanks to this, customers will still have a choice and maybe they will not resort to the competition.Well, unless they are forcibly looking for a diesel, from which they were abandoned in Nissan.The diesel hole was arranged by electrification to reduce fuel consumption.And what about the top-in version of the plug-in?There will be no such.Let's also forget about the fully electric Nissan Qashqaiu.This square was developed by Nissan Ariya.
