"Archive 81" Netflix threatens with history and scares with performance, but I couldn't break away anyway

  1. SPIDER'S WEB
  2. rozrywka
  3. Netflix

The series itself is unfortunately a quarter-found footage. We see in it fragments of fictitious television programs or advertisements that give this pleasant thrill and hunting, whether it really happened, and we also watch video with noise straight from a VCR or a racial sleep (which byPolish translators was included as "Films of the last breath").The lion's share of the action, however, happens in the "feature series" mode. Both scenes from the past and the present.

It is a pity, because I understand that from a production and narrative perspective it is easier than to turn a "real lie", but from the viewer the viewer receives a lot of fun from communing with allegedly authentic recordings, to which "found" tapes or mockuments got used to us.And it is less terrible and original, and ordinary horror series is for bunches.

The story from "Archive 81" resembles a creepypasta inspired by the achievements of H.P.Lovecraft.

Internet scary stories are usually not mega revealing or literary perfect, but they give the impression of realistic, even when they scare demons, they calculate urban legends (or create new like Slenderman) and have more or less successful plot twist."Archive 81" is therefore a bit like a feature creepypasta, but with extensive mythology.

It is not a short story for this, but a multi -threaded story with a well -thought -out world and events spread over a few decades. The whole is additionally surrounded by an ominous aura out of this world that can be associated with the atmosphere of Lovecraft books. You can also feel the flashes of "shining", "frequencies", "Rosemary's child", "Lostów" or "TwinPeaks".

The story of occultism, witches, a mysterious corporation and aliens (I write intentionally so as not to spoil) is so interesting that we are able to turn a blind eye to all the deficiencies, about which in a moment. And it's worth persevering to the end, because in the last two episodes something is finally beginning to happen. The middle of the first season may discourage, because the creators are unable to maintain adequate tension, multiply threads and put our patience to the test.

When I saw another same shot staring at the Dana screen, I thought I would fall asleep. It was impossible to forgive yourself and thus shorten the whole, what would affect dynamics? Some started threads that were devoted to a lot of time have been unexplained. If only to pull the story to the end. Some heroes' behaviors are so annoying and illogical that I have to point it out bypassing those cheating on the story.Man does not always work as if he had 300 IQ, but I couldn't get over some moments.

From beginning to end I was not able to accept the fact that the melody is recorded everywhere with a camera. And it is not so spy, but ordinary and practically no one makes a problem, and even talks things that he can harm himself.I was also annoyed by the well -known naivety in this species: the heroes are witnesses of disturbing or paranormal things, they discover some chopped religious worship.I know that this is crazy, but does every horror hero have to have progressive mental disorders, otherwise you can't push action forward?

"Archive 81" looks like a cheap television series, but has a rich story.

Another thing that can push away from the series are computer effects. There are not many of them, because the series is rather medium -budget, but you could hire someone better up to these few animations.Even in the trailer of the series, we see an alien that looks like these videos on YouTube, where some monitoring camera recorded a stranger walking in the parking lot.It looks funny and totally spoils the atmosphere, and yet these scenes for this production are culminating or are to scare us.

However, if we do not approach the series from the streaming giant, but to the class B cinema, which is played by TVPuls, we can receive all these flaws as a charming, and maybe even an advantage. In my opinion, through just a substitute of the found footage, poor effects and a stretched scenario, "Archive 81" loses a lot. However, I watched the whole season without coercion, because at its foundation lies extensive mythology and history that you just want to discover. The "Archive 81" series can now be seen online on Netfliks.
