Vacos Baby Monitor records movies during the day and night (night vision). It has a thermometer with an alarm, so you always know if your baby is too warm or too cold. It also has the function of detecting baby movement and crying, it can notify when feeding and play lullabies. It also has a loudspeaker function - we can talk remotely to the child.

And you know what is even better?

Very easy to use and long range

You insert a memory card, connect the display and camera to power and… that's it! Both elements connect to each other automatically, wirelessly, without any configuration. Literally - you plug the cable in and go. No connection to the router is required. The theoretical range is as much as 300 meters. Really, there is no problem with signal strength, even in a large home. When it comes to ease of use, one word is adequate: revelation.

Camera and display - for a child and a parent

The set consists of two basic elements: a camera placed in the child's room and a control panel with a display in the parents' room (or anywhere within range, because the display has its own battery sufficient for several hours).

The camera is stylized as a toy. It has foldable ears or small pink horns, a movable lens eye on the face, and a pivoting head.

On the back, however, it has two tails - one is the wireless signal antenna and the other is the temperature sensor in the baby's room. In fact, there's one more tail - the USB-C cable for power.

On a cupboard or on the wall

The camera has four feet on the bottom, thanks to which it does not move and does not fall off a table, shelf or wardrobe. In addition, there is a thread in the center for mounting the baby monitor on the wall. The set includes a wall bracket with screws and dowels. The USB-C cable for powering the camera is approximately 3 meters long. The charging cable for the control panel is approximately 1.2 m.

Wide range of motion and quiet operation

The camera lens can rotate horizontally by 355 degrees, so in practice we will see and record everything around. Vertical movement is 55 degrees. The manufacturer does not specify the exact angle of view of the camera, but in my opinion it is fully sufficient.

Even more importantly, the vertical and horizontal movement of the camera is very quiet. It will definitely not wake the baby up, even if the camera is very close.

Control panel - light and easy to use

There are a few things worth noting here.

Sound and motion notifications on the display are also complemented by an audible alarm. In other words, if we are asleep, we will be awake and visually informed of what is happening. Even if the child's room is far away and we cannot hear it directly. This is an important feature of the baby monitor.

On the right side of the display there are buttons for menu operation and function activation.

With their help, we can, for example, adjust the brightness of the screen, the volume of the sound received by the camera, start and stop recording, turn on the "intercom", i.e. the function of talking to the child, control the movement of the camera lens, and enter advanced options.

Is the connection secure?

Everything is broadcast locally - from the camera straight to the control panel. Then the data may or may not be written to the memory card. Vacos Baby Monitor can also work in live view mode, without recording if we do not want it. No data passes over the internet and is not saved in the cloud. The device does not connect to the router and does not require a password for it. The connection between the camera and the panel is encrypted (I don't know what the level and effectiveness of this encryption is, but it's important that the encryption is there). The camera can only be controlled locally, within the range of the antenna signal. It cannot be accessed via the Internet.

Quality of movies

The Vacos Baby Monitor has infrared lighting, so it can record movies at night. The lighting turns on automatically and works up to 5 meters into the room. Of course, when recording during the day, the IR diode does not activate. The video is recorded in HD resolution.

Vacos Baby Monitor - opinion

The Vacos Baby Monitor electronic nanny costs about PLN 500 and at this price, in my opinion, offers good functionality. It alerts about temperature, sound and movement in the baby's room. It has a clear preview on a 5-inch display with adjustable brightness, allows you to connect to four cameras at once, and can record video.

Yes, the resolution is only HD, but remember that this is not a "burglar-proof" camera for home monitoring. The electronic nanny will allow you to view the baby's room and inform about crying and movement with alarms. Recording is just an add-on. More importantly, the live view is encrypted and performed locally, only between the camera and the control panel (no internet access required).

For parents who want a calmer head, the Vacos Baby Monitor is an option worth recommending. It's just a good electronic nanny for around PLN 500.
