Control - game review.Is it worth playing?

Still not very atmospheric and mysterious?So let's add to the fact that the whole office is in the building emanating with power, on the border of dimensions.This is the oldest headquarters - a creation that can change their shapes.Something like the famous stairs in Hogwarts, only on a much larger scale.

During the game, the questions multiply and multiply, but at the same time they are so intriguing that we cannot even break away from the TV.

Who takes such a photo of the caretaker?Who is he actually that his photo hangs in the main hall of the office?

Do you know the saying "the further into the forest, the more trees"?It fits perfectly with control.We discover one secrets (if you can call it to repeal its seam), and we come across a dozen subsequent ones.Who is the caretaker?Why was he not insane as the only one without a special amplifier?What happens to people?Where did Syk come from - a being that apparently possessed some people, being a deadly threat to the others?

During the game, the questions multiply and multiply, but at the same time they are so intriguing that we cannot even break away from the TV/monitora.Something like in the aforementioned "Fringe" or "Twin Peaks".Especially that over time the atmosphere is still thickening, the "enemy" throws more and more sophisticated forms of possessed against us, and the creators are double and tripled to provide us with more and more interesting and more crazy tasks.

A desk in the mouth of madness

Since we have an opponent's invasion, most likely from a different dimension, the fight cannot be typical.I have already mentioned the changing weapon - it has several different varieties that it can transform and which require unlocking during the game.

In addition, however, our heroine has the ability to use the power of paranormal objects.There are quite a lot of them in the oldest headquarters, because as soon as there was some strange incident somewhere an agents of the control office were immediately on the spot and like men in black pacified threat.All "wonderful" items landed in the research department.

Thanks to this, we quickly find a "crazy", 5.5-inch diskette with Russian nuclear codes that can throw objects.Thanks to her, we gain a similar skill, which is immediately useful during the fight.Later, there are other, no less bizarre objects and related abilities.Believe it or not, but some descriptions of such paranormal items can make fun of.

It cannot be denied that the fight mechanics in many places is similar to what we have already seen in Quantum Break.In Control, however, it seems much more natural and much more intuitive.By unlocking subsequent skills, however, you can encounter some difficulties to master all tricks sufficient to overcome what is more difficult bosses.These are, and they are very annoying.

Especially that catching objects that we throw later in enemies is not as precise as it seems.Not once unpleasantly surprised I was a sudden explosion of an accidentally grabbed cylinder, which instead of in an opponent hit the railing, taking away most of my life.Fortunately, even such "surprises" were not able to upset me so much that I would throw Control in the corner and did not want to continue playing.

Of course, there are more disadvantages and shortcomings.Control, though great feature, loses a bit through a few quite annoying deficiencies.First of all - the recording system that transfers us to the last control place we have taken over.And that it is lost here quite often, at least at the beginning, this may mean the need to run through a large number of corridors and rooms again.

Secondly - although the creators promised stable 30 frames per second they did not quite succeed.The game can crunch powerfully, and even in places where we do not fight, and the only "problem" are large, open and quite empty spaces.On Xbox One X, where I played, the declines were quite powerful.

And finally, third - no HDR support for the premiere of the game.I don't understand that anymore.Control is asked for a decent HDR, with all these light sources, reflectors and weird locations.It is not known if Remedy did not think about it at all or maybe there were any problems that did not allow them to implement this technology.Suffice it to say that in a laconic message on Twitter they informed that so far there is nothing to count on these additional effects.

There are also a lot of RPG elements in Control - from a developed skill tree to new types of weapons and creating their modifications

At the end of this counting, I need to add one more thing - it's a pity that most of the introductors of the additional climate of flavors were hidden at Control in the notes, tapes, documents and illustrative films created everywhere created especially for office staff.To screw in, you need to feel a little and look into every corner.Not everyone likes it.

Control - is it worth buying?

Oh, yet how!This game is screaming - play in me and let yourself be surprised.Control may look terribly sterile, but the story he told is so unusual and so incredibly addictive that all the rest ceases to matter.

You can include a dozen death here when attempted to pass one mission, and we are not able to break away from the TV.Not because, as in Dark Souls, we want to feel satisfaction with overcoming a demanding boss, but because we are pushed by pure curiosity - what will happen next?
