Recently, two home surveillance cameras have gone through my hands - tenda c6 and realme smart cam 360 °.The first of them is to be pulled out for OK.Stówka, the second - for OK.two.Today, however, I will look at Eufy Indoor Cam 2K, which of the three of these three is the most expensive, although its price can still be considered as quite attractive - it costs ok.PLN 249.Especially that - if you find out - it offers a lot.
Perhaps you remember that we managed Anker Eufy Indoor Cam 2K in OiOT.pl write at the time of its world premiere.This took place quite a long time ago, in April 2020.A little later, it also went on sale in Poland, where it enjoys quite a lot of popularity all the time - or at least such an impression can be given by reading opinions about it.
So it's time to check if it is actually as good as users write about it on the web.
First impressions
I admit that taking the Eufy Indoor Cam 2K out of the box was accompanied by a smile on my face.It is true that at first glance it looks quite generic (like most of this type of internal cameras), but these are only appearances.Once, that the rotary black part is not completely shiny (Mat adds a more elegant silt here), two - the design of the product diversifies the silver strap passing around the structure, and finally three - a nice accent for the eye is a shiny circle (blue when the device is turned on, in red - when he detects the presence of man).
The small accents I mentioned make the camera look really good, thanks to which it easily fits into any, even modern interior.Sure, it is still a plastic, but completely good quality - it looks pleasant to the eye, it does not collect fingerprints.The only thing that is sometimes worth wipe because he likes to collect dust.
For the order, I will add that the Eufy Indoor Cam 2K can be found in both white and black color version.In both cases, the housing is made of matte plastic.
Device configuration
As for the camera configuration itself, it boils down to a few simple steps.We download the Eufy Security (Android - Google Play / iOS - App Store) application - and here the first grind.The program is not available in Polish, which personally does not bother me, but since the manufacturer sells the device in our country, he could try more.
Especially since let's remember about an important issue - after all, users of home surveillance cameras are not only geeks, but also the elderly who may have a problem with foreign languages.Fortunately, the application itself is so intuitive that it can be operated properly "on the sensation".
After downloading the application for a smartphone, you must accept the license provisions and log in to the account - or set up new ones, if we do not have one yet.After logging in, we can set access to the application using a fingerprint (although I don't think you log out from the app) and add a camera.
In the next step, we need to connect the camera to the electricity and wait for the LED to shine blue.Later, we only have to scan the QR code from the device, press the Setup button and wait until the loud "Biiiip" comes out of the speaker.After the application, he will ask for a WiFi password (unfortunately, only 2.4 GHz; 5 GHz band.
The camera is of course wired (and not wireless), which means that it is powered by the help of a "cube" charger, to which a 2-meter cable ended with a microUSB port connected.It is a pity that not USB C, but we will not do anything about it, unfortunately.In my opinion, the cable could be longer, because not everyone is enough to freely place the camera where they want.
And it is worth mentioning that the camera can work both on the cabinet and attached to the wall or ceiling - then the image in the application is twisted by 180 °.The application will lead us how to install a camera correctly-if we do not have children and animals, it is best to set it at a height of 100-150 cm from the floor (with children and animals-60-120 cm), with a distance from the walls of a minimum of 20 cm.
The recordings are recorded on the memory card, which we put in the socket under the camera lens - at first glance difficult to locate.Most importantly, however, Anker has not forgotten about the cloud service, so even if we lose the camera, we will still have access to recordings - from the smartphone (the computer application is not available).
Euphy cloud with a free trial period
I will start with the most important: by buying an EuFy camera, you can use a free, 30-day trial period and then decide whether you want to use the service further or not.This is a great thing, for which the manufacturer should definitely be praised - rarely companies use free triales, let alone a month.
The trial period is 30-day, but allows access to materials registered by the camera in the last 14 days.Most importantly, in order to use it, you do not have to provide your credit card data or any other form of payment - it is activated without any authorization of payments that could later be charged automatically in the form of subscription.
How are further fees for using the cloud?There are two plans available:

From the level of the mobile application, we can turn off the camera, LED, automatic (colorful!) Night mode, as well as change the information displayed on the screen - i.e..The info itself on the date and time or with the logo.The application also allows us to set and calibrate the camera head.This rotates in the horizontal (360 degrees) and vertical (93 degrees) axes.
Eufy Indoor Cam 2K detects movement (people, animals or any) or sound.In the case of traffic detection, we can mark the alarm activity zone, the sensitivity of the detection of movement and tracking the person / animal, after detecting its presence.I conducted the tests at the average sensitivity setting (i.e. 3 out of 5 available) and I did not experience any problems - every time I entered the staff I or my fiance, the camera informed about it correctly, sending a pop up notification, which I could, of course, play with the sound.
As a curiosity, I will add that the camera does not detect the vacuuming robot Irobot Roomba J7+;Only switching to the detection of the sound helps to check how exactly the robot cleans our apartment;).
Speaking of detecting sounds, the camera is so clever that it can detect any type of sound or crying of a child itself - it can be used as an electronic nanny (of course, depending on our choices in the settings).
In fact, however, I would not trust her too much - she is oversensitive.By participating in the video conferencing on the laptop in the living room, the camera several times detected voices from the laptop as a child's cry - in addition at the lowest level of tenderness (at the first of five).
Interestingly, if we have a dog or cat in the apartment and enters a specific activity zone, the camera will come out of the message "hey, what are you doing there?" To chase it away.However, I do not think that our pet knows English 😉 It's nice that the manufacturer thought about the possibility of adding and recording his own message to his beloved quadruped.Unfortunately, due to the lack of an animal, I was not able to check this option (but soon! :)).
The record of the recorded image on the memory card can be set in two ways - either after detection of movement / sound, or as a continuous record.With the second option, the record is performed in Full HD (and not 2K) to save space on a data carrier.
What about notifications?Their settings are impressive.We can decide whether the notification is to appear when the human, animal, any movement, crying or any sound (or with all of these events).In addition, we will set up a temporary interval in the application - from 0 to 5 minutes, as well as the level of expansion of the notification - it can be basic (with the text itself), indirect (first text, miniature) or extended (immediately with a miniature).
If you still have little, there are also eight different sounds at our disposal, which we can assign to alerts.You can also simply calm them down.
Eufy Indoor Cam 2K in practice
After going to the camera view, our eyes show a preview of what is currently happening in front of the device's lens along with the possibility of moving it vertically or level, as well as using the Round-LOK function (the camera "looks" then around the room ").
We can also record material, do a screenshot, say something to a person in front of the camera, listen to what is happening, start the alarm (continuous sound lasting 30 seconds), night mode, calibration, tracking the object and moving to saved events.
After moving to all detected events, our eyes show their list with a miniature preview, time and information whether it is a man, detected movement or sound.Each recording can be immediately saved in the phone's memory, delete or further available - to each application we want (including Facebook, Discord, Messenger, Google Drive, etc..).
The camera can work according to set scenarios.In the SECURITY tab we will find several defined modes, such as Home, Away, Disarmed, Geofencing (based on our location), Schedule (according to a set schedule) and customize - in which we can decide ourselves what to do after detecting movement or sound: turn onrecording, send a notification or/and start a sound alarm.
The image is recorded in a resolution of 2304 × 1296 pixels in 15 kl./s.You can verify its quality on the basis of materials registered during tests with mine and Kuba participation:
Eufy Indoor Cam 2K is one of the cheaper home monitoring cameras that offer support for voice assistants.You can connect it to the Amazon Alexa environment, Google and Homekit assistant, although unfortunately I was unable to check if it offers everyone as extensive functionality.Yes, I know, some will run out of IFTTT, but at this price it is rather a kind of fad.
Oh, and maybe it did not sound literally, so I will emphasize it again: the camera has both a microphone and a speaker, so it allows two -way communication.The quality of the speaker is completely good, the microphone also - so far the best I have encountered in cheap home monitoring cameras.
Summary
If the biggest defects of the device can include the lack of Ethernet port, the USB connector in the outdated micro standard and the language of the application, then the application should actually draw only one: Anker Eufy Indoor Cam 2K is a home monitoring camera, which is worth considering.
As for the operation itself, the manufacturer should still work on tracking the user after detecting traffic and switching from night mode to day and vice versa - at the moment LAG is noticeable.
Included in the price of OK.250 zlotys offers a lot - from nice design, through the quality of recorded recordings, detecting the movement of people and animals using artificial intelligence, two -way communication, to the cloud with a free trial period.She just speaks a lot for her.
Important attention at the end: there is no microSD card in the camera set - it should be purchased separately.
